Q: I would like to have your opinion as to which one (or three) equities , based on growth and weighing risk, you would pick for an aggressive TFSA. Thank you.

Q: I would like to add a growth stock to my TFSA. Looking at your growth portfolio I narrowed it down to one of SHOP, KXS, DBO, PLI, TNC or ZCL. In today's environment which one of these six stocks would you add? I am relatively diversified across all sectors, so sector is not an issue at this time.

I was originally leaning towards either SHOP or KXS. If you didn't select one of these from the six stocks listed above, which one out of these two would you pick?

The funds to purchase the growth stock will come from the sale of IPL or WCP in my TFSA. Of these two which would you sell to get the funds for the growth stock? p.s. I also own IPL and WCP in a non-registered account and plan to keep those.

Q: Hi Peter, I'm wondering about your latest insight on CJT? I've had it since the income trust days which is great. I don't ever plan to sell CJT. I realize their barriers to entry are massive but they have negative income. How is that possible? But they have positive CFO, their assets are growing more than doubling from last year but it looks like their debt is engulfing its equity. I find that SHOP, although totally different sector of course has the same scenarios but has a lower debt/equity ratio. What do you think and is it a concern for both companies? How should I evaluate these companies better because I view them as good companies still because of their competitive edge. Thanks.

Q: Peter and team:
I hold all equities in your balanced portfolio and a couple from your growth in a portfolio worth about 450K (Thank you). I currently have about 35K to invest and would like to choose one stock from your growth and two from your income to "round things out".
At current valuations and looking at a 10 year plus time frame could you please rank each of the four equities per group. Sector allocation is not a consideration.
Please deduct 2 credits and Thank you as always for a fantastic service.

Q: Google is said to have a very wide moat with it being a leader in search. But we all know what happens in tech -- when people reach the top there is no more room to grow or something disrupts that moat and it comes crashing down. How secure is Google and CSU and Shopify of them not being disrupted by new, nimble startups?

Q: Could you rank these as your number 1, 2 and 3 picks for growth, and provide some rationale. I am looking at one of these for a long-term hold of perhaps 5 years or more.
Thank-you

Q: I have been told that many small businesses actually sell through Amazon. T2 just opened a facility for Amazon in Ont. SHOP is opening one in Waterloo I believe. My question is; how is SHOP different from Amazon? Amazon is a heavyweight What edge or advantages does SHOP ? Am I missing some concepts ?

Thank You for you always good advice

Q: Hello Peter, you've recently answered some questions as to current investment options for growth-oriented TFSAs, including the above companies. My TFSA has funds to permit three "growthy but not OVERLY risky" new investments. Whether from among the above choices or not, can you , considering the recent changes in market prices, please suggest your top 3 current choices to add to a TFSA (on top of my fairly balanced overall portfolio). Thank you!

Q: Being a relatively young investor in my late 20s I think I should be allocating more of my portfolio to high quality growth stocks. (I likely have too much allocated to blue chip dividend cos) I have owned ATD.B, CSU and SJ for some time and was wondering if you could suggest some other similar consistent growth cos to look into?

Q: Starting a new portfolio of higher risk stocks to offset my more strategic long term investments. I have listed several juniors that are either in your Growth Portfolio or have been lately receiving considerable attention. Would appreciate your comments, order of preference & recommandations. Please deduct whatever number of credits you feel appropriate. Thank you.

Q: These three make up my tech sector which always seems to take the biggest hit when the market tanks like Fri. I am thinking of cutting one out. Which one would you consider to be the one prone to drop the most when the overall market behaves like this? I thought OTC would be the safest but it took the biggest hit Fri.

Q: Hi 5i Research team, I have a long term horizon, and more of a growth oriented investor profile. I prefer to well understand the companies I invest in. The technology sector represents a challenge for me in terms of software products, competition, rapidly changing conditions, obsolescence, variety of software portfolio, etc. So I would like to built a sector exposure based on a few companies instead of using an ETF. Based on reading 5i Research, I am thinking a combination of CSU, KXS, GIB.A, OTC, ESL, DSG, TCS, SYZ,SH. Do you agree with this strategy? Would you include some other companies in this list or replace some? In what order would you rank them in terms of total return potential over long term and overall quality? How many of them would be enough? Would you suggest another weighting than equal weight (2% each)? I also need criteria to manage this group since my understanding won't be up to par. How will I know when to sell, or when to over or underweight in some companies? I would not want to react too strongly to short term events (quarterly results). How would you suggest I implement this strategy (buying strategy)? Thank you, Eric

Q: Being a victim of success, for which 5 I is to blame, I have a question about allocation. I'm sure you've been accused of worse things than making people money!

I started a 3% position with Savaria, which has now grown to 4.5%. I started a 2.5% position in Shopify (the US equivalent) which has also grown to just under 4.5%.

The question is, do you suggest trimming these back, or are they strong enough to continue unchecked for a while? I have a portfolio that is just under 500K and don't know if it's a wise bet to place an almost full position in two relatively newer entities in a portfolio of this size. Thanks, as ever, for your help.
