Q: I did reorganise my portfolios in 2022 for a majority of diversified dividend ETFs and a minority of selected excellent dividend stocks. This strategy was satisfactory ,and I shall not sell this content in 2023.My strategy in 2023 will consider the possibility of a bear market,I shall only " add-on" some stocks on weakness .Could you list 10 canadian+10 us stocks ( not ETFs), among the safest in a bear market in your opinion, including 7 dividend stocks+3 growth stocks for each list, and rank them for safety if possible, many thanks,JY

Q: Shopify's decision to sell it's distribution business has been well-received. However, the reasons for this divestiture -- complexity and distraction, as well as cost were entirely foreseeable before this initiative started. And the reasons for getting into distribution are not being mentioned in corporate explanations of the change. Have they just gone away? Does this change point to governance issues, such as the unusual independence of the CEO due to the share structure?

Q: Hello, Thank you and Kudos to 5i team for your unfaltering view on Shopify, and even bumping up the weight in the Balanced portfolio recently. Your unbiased and consistent opinion has been a huge support to us for maintaining a long term view on this company, while there has been so much pessimism and negativity in the market. We are very happy with market rewarding the stock last week and I am sure, there is a lot more to come over next several years.

Can you please identify if any of them are particularly good or strong buys at this point...or would you suggest putting more or less equal amts of money into a number of them? I note that all are at or close to new highs. Still buyable? Thank you for your excellent services!!

Q: Currently down significantly on these names, especially SHOP

Please confirm whether all are “keep-able” in a long-term (10yrs+) balanced portfolio.

Would you add to any at current valuations, and which one(s)?
Thank you!

Can you suggest a consolidation candidate or perhaps one of Shop, Descartes , Doo or one you prefer better. Thank you

Q: I'm looking to sell some of my Lightspeed positions and looking for an alternative in the same space.

- I have a huge loss with LSPD, and looking for best proxy to recoup some losses going forward...

- Not interested in 5+ year investment, as too much can change...

- I'm looking for a recommendation of a candidate that has great prospects 1-2 years, 3 max

- I'm open to any suggestions & ideas other than the companies I listed in my question as well

Q: With all the volatility we are seeing, I am looking at trading a few stocks so I would like a few suggestions from you. These should be names I wouldn't have a problem holding if the trades don't work out. Both US and Canada. Thank you in advance.
