Q: Hi 5i Research Team:
I have traded Forex before and am new to stock trading. 90% of my RRSP, RESP and TFSA is in cash and I'd like to avail the current market conditions by "gradually" buying the dips.. and holding it over the long term, 5 to 10 years. I understand that no one can time the market or its bottom.
After exploring the reports and questions on your site, I have identified the enclosed 29 stocks based on following criteria:
- Current Retracements of > 75% over 52 week high & low
- Dividend Yield > 5% (in some cases, like WEED, which is a bit risky, I understand there's no dividend in the near term.. and I am simply going for the upside swing over the next 2 years... same for CRON and Air Canada)
Considering my 90% cash position and strategy to partially buy in on dips over the next few weeks, can you please advise if my stock selection is sound. In addition to my stock picks, please advise anything else that I should keep in mind.
Thanks for everything you do. Much appreciate.

Q: Hi guys, I own the following with the respective total portfolio weightings. My TFSA is all CDN and RRSP is a mix of USD/CDN. When I rebalance, should I try and rebalance with respect to % of TFSA and % of RRSP or rebalance each holding as a percent of overall portfolio? If the latter, I would consolidate some of the holdings in my TFSA to bump up the individual weightings. Are there any obvious adjustments that I should make? I’m heavy on AAPL but have sold so much of it over the years I’m very tempted to let the remaining shares ride.

Q: Can you have a look at the stock charts for me. Also I noticed today there is double the volume of shares trading today on both of these. Thoughts on timing getting back in on these?

Was this a market bubble much like jr mining stocks in 2007? Were participants led by greed to speculate in assets which they did not know how to value?

Q: Do you see this stock recovering and if so what level would you see it trading back up to. Is there any fundemental support at any level. For the long term 3-5 years would you be comfortable holding this name here?
Q: As speculation, which mariuana co. has the best chances

Q: I read an article earlier this week about convertible debt in the cannabis industry. I think the company was Canopy. The exercise price on the convertible debt was reduced considerably to entice the bondholders. I assume creating more potential downside for the shareholders. In any case, my question relates to the management rights to proceed with such a move. Is it voted by the shareholders ? What would the alternative be ? Borrowing at higher cost ? If no event of default has occured on the bond (maybe there was a default?), why give a better deal to the bondholder ? Can you please provide general comments about debt holders rights vs management/shareholders rights. Thank you.
Q: Weed is trading near $20. Is it a interesting speculation near that price? Thanks for your previous advice on that stock; you saved me thousands of $.
Q: I do not have any position in Cannabis sector. Since current govt. will be staying for another 4 year and their position about legalization will not change, I like to start investing in this sector. Can you please suggest few Cannabis stock for 4 years hold period? And it is better to invest in these stocks RRSP or TFSA or Non Registered accounts?
Q: I am currently down 55% on WEED. I am wondering if I should sell and take my losses now, before tax loss selling, or leave it and ride it out for several years. There is no advantage to me to sell for a tax loss because this is in my TFSA. Thank you!
Q: Happy Monday.. I just wanted to thank you for advising us to be cautious on the marijuana sector for the past two years. I know you took some heat as they were going up for not recommending the stocks in the sector but it really looks like the party is over now with HEXO, TRST, TGOD and all the other problem companies. It is hard to believe that after the investment banker frenzy some companies are having a hard time now financing growth. Anyway, thank you.
Q: Marijuana stocks: “Dead Cat Bounce” or Trend reversal
Examples: Weed, Hexo, HMMJ,TLRY, VFF
After some major drops in share prices, the last couple of days have seen some nice and welcomed increases.
Do you see this a a Dead Cat bounce or a trend reversal.
If a trend reversal, do you see significantly more upside potential in any of the above.
Thanks .
BTW .... thanks for the excellent answer to my bonds not doing their job question. 5i certainly is ...in every way.

Q: Just for fun I am going to take a small position in WEED after earnings are announced in November. Can you share with me what catalysts, positive, negative and neutral to look for when they announce?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: I am basically a buy and hold investor, but the cannabis meltdown seems extreme with no end in sight. Is it time to throw in the towel or should I hang on? I own WEED and Cronos. thanks for your response.
Q: 5i, The stocks above, have they found the bottom, Is it a good time to buy one of these?, will this boost prices -> "New cannabis products — like edibles, beverages, topicals and extracts — will be for sale legally in Canada in mid-December."
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Which stocks will benefit the most from legalization of edibles in Canada? Do you think that this is already priced into stock prices?
