Q: About a year ago (Nov 2016), you provided 10 "forever"stock ideas. Would you still categorize those same 10 stocks as "forever" stocks today?

Q: Hello Peter & co, I am going to start a half position in TWO out of Savaria, ZCL and Premium Brands Hldgs. This will be for long-term positions in a TFSA. Based on current info and prices, please advise which two you would favour. Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter, I have cash in my TFSA to invest. In addition to a diversified RRSP, my TFSA already has significant holdings in Google, Winpak, ZWB and the Agellan REIT (which have all done very well over the past few years).
Can you please suggest three 'growthier' ideas for new additions to the TFSA. I can accept a fair degree of risk, but not really interested in "long shots". (My gambling instinct was wrung out of me after my foray into Guestlogix - just a bad memory at this point). Thank you!

Q: Hi 5iResearch Team,

I have started a position on SHOP since this past January and have been adding to my position since. I am currently up by about 100% on my total holdings and now it accounts for about 5% of my total portfolio. I am debating if I should take some money off SHOP and put the proceed on something else (preferably with a dividend). May I please have your thoughts on this and if you can also recommend a company to buy with the proceed from the sale of SHOP should I decide to trim my holdings on SHOP>

Best Regards,

Q: Hi 5i

I own most of BE along with AAPL,GOOGL,DIS, TD, BEP.UN and a few others. Want to add 2 of the above soon. Which 2 would you recommend now?

Also, I would like to know your thoughts on PEG/PEGY ratios. Do you use them and if so, how?

Thanks, Greg

Q: I am retired and living on dividend income. I would like to invest 10% of my portfolio in 4 stocks from your growth and balanced portfolios for capital appreciation. Which 4 stocks would you recommend that are at the best valuation, offer a margin of safety, and offer the best growth potential for a 3-5 year hold?

Q: I have some cash to deploy and I want to add to some small or half positions in the following 10 companies: MG, NFI, SIS, MX, SJ, PBH, ZCL, WSP, BCE, ENB. I would like to buy into some of these stocks today and some later, to spread the risk of the market's ups and downs. Which of these would you suggest I buy today, and which should can I hold off on? I am otherwise well diversified, so that is not an issue for how this cash is used.
Please deduct as many credits as you like. Thanks for the great service.

Q: I am reviewing my holdings in Consumer non-cyclicals for my RRSP (balanced approach with 15+ years to convert to RRIF). I am underweight in this sector (4%) divided between CCL.B and FSV which you agreed in a previous Q&A that they can be considered c. non-cyclicals.

I’d like to increase to about 8-10% total by boosting one of the two holdings I already have (which one between CCL.B and FSV would be best at this time?) and/or acquiring one or two additional stocks. Here I think it would be wise to buy more typical c. non-cyclicals like ATD.B + PBH or perhaps simply just XST to get exposure to a basket of food-related stocks at once (primarly ATD.B, L, MRU, SAP). Your observations will be appreciated as always.

Q: Hi 5i Team:
I've held L for the better part of 3 years now. It seems range bound between $60 - $70. Sometimes going over $70 and then having a pullback. With Amazon entering/disrupting the grocery business. I would like your opinion if you think switching Loblaw's for Premium Brands would be appropriate. Same sector, same dividend and PBH probably better growth and dividend prospects.

Q: Hi 5i,

As of today, which stocks would you purchase with a full position in an RRSP to hold for 3-5 years?

Which stocks would you consider value stocks to purchase today for 1/2 to a full position in an RRSP?

Thank you for your excellent service and advice.

Cheers,

Jerry & Debbie

Q: My son is in his early 20s and building a portfolio based on your balanced portfolio. He currently holds 11 stocks. He has no industrials, communications and only TOY in the consumer space. We are thinking of selling ADN from his TFSA and replacing it with SIS or PBH as we know you recommend growth stocks in a TFSA. He also has MX in the material sector. Is this a good plan, not necessary, or do you have another suggestion from the above list that you think is better? Thanks
