Q: Hello 5i. From a portfolio perspective, coud you give me guidelines on what would be a full position depending on the company size/profile. For example, would a full position be the same for COV, PBH and ENB? Thanks to your great recommendations, I have COV at 5%, PBH at 7% and in both case am wondering when it is time to trim. Thanks!

Q: Morning, Have held this company for a few years, slight loss over this period. Given the small dividend, lack lustre performance, do you still see this as worthy of patience? Looking long term, prefer a balance between dividend/growth potential. Other suggestions with better future? Thanks, Lavern

Q: Hi 5i, my portfolio is marching along nicely thanks to your advice. I am questioning holding onto NFI. I am on par and have owned it for about 8 months. Because of exposure to tariffs, I'm wondering if it will stagnate and if a switch to PBH, one of your stock recommendations that I do not yet hold, might have more growth possibility in the coming year(s). Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

Q: Would like your opinion on what company to add to my RRSP. I currently have BNS, TD, BCE, T, TRP, ENB and PFE. Would like some something with growth potential and a small dividend. I notice you seem to like SIS - would that fit in OR can you suggest others I can look at ? Thanks for your help.

Q: Rising interest rates have definitely put downward pressure on bond-proxy types of companies i.e. those that pay dividends. I am an investor who believes that those companies that pay dividends and have the ability to raise those dividends consistently over time tend to outperform. I would like to purchase 6 such companies for the income portion of my portfolio, and would appreciate the names of your favorite companies that pay, and have a history of increasing, their dividends.

Q: Would you expect PBH to hold up as well as Loblaw in a downturn? I hold both as part of my non-cyclical portion of my portfolio but I view PBH's growth prospects as greater and am therefore considering selling Loblaw. I realize that Loblaw is significantly larger although your report shows PBH's shares did hold up well in the last recession. My main concern with PBH is that a significant portion of revenues/profits comes from specialty foods. Would you expect this sector to hold up well in a downturn as I don't know if PBH product mix has changed significantly since 2008? I have no intention of selling PBH - I am just wondering if I can find a better substitute for Loblaw.

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Looking to add to consumer staples exposure. I am looking for best-in-class in the sector. PBH has performed spectacularly, and ATD.B has a great long-term track record, but poor 12-month performance. Leaning somewhat towards PBH, but would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks so much!

Q: Keeping in mind the extended length of the current bull market, the often bewildering ‘noise’ emanating from our once friendly neighbour to the south, and a myriad of other moving parts, I’m finding it difficult to identify Canadian companies that can survive and continue to grow over the long term. I would greatly appreciate it if you would share with me a list of dividend paying Canadian companies that are so well-managed and have such strong stories that you believe they have an excellent chance to continue to grow and flourish well into the future. I would consider these companies to become core holdings and held for 5 to 10 years. Hopefully, your choices would represent multiple sectors.

Q: It’s becoming increasingly clear Canada is facing challenges on many economic fronts from increasing regulatory burdens, inability to attract foerign capital and sub-national debt at the provincial level. Given that these, among many other, factors make Canada a questionable destination for investment, I’m wondering about your take on what this means going forward. Apart from an increased international focus, are there some Canadian companies doing business in Canada you feel can benefit from a potentially deteriorating economic scenario in Canada. I've recently taken a position in GSY and am considering DOL. Your thoughts on these and other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Q: I notice that David Rosenberg will be on Bnn this Friday with Andrew McCreath.
On May 19 He published an article in The Globe & Mail stating that Trumponomics will cause the next recession within the next 12 months.
If he is correct, am I right in assuming that interest rates will then to begin to decline , eventually leading to better prices down the road for the bond proxies?
Could you recomend from your portfolios the best recession proof companies with a history of regularly increasing their dividends?
