Q: Which packaging manufacturer has the best ability to transition away from plastics into recycled and/or paper based packaging? As TCL reinvents itself as a flexible packaging producer (Coveris acquisition) do you see this, or have you heard this discussed by management?

Q: If we expect a trend towards more internet/online shopping (eg. Amazon), is there an investing opportunity in companies that provide packaging for this type of service? Personally, as I've used more online shopping, I've used Canada Post/UPS/FedEx significantly more, and I've been recycling a lot of cardboard boxes. Would CCL.B or WPK have any positive exposure to this type of trend? Any other companies that would?

Q: Reviewing my portfolio at this time of year,i have decided to take a more defensive approach for 2018.I have recently purchased a couple of gold stocks(aem & lk).I am unsure if gold still has the downside protection for a portfolio that it used to.
Also with the expected interest rate increases will dividend paying large caps have the desired benefit of portfolio protection?
Do you have any suggestions on some debt free dividend paying companies that will do well in a flat or slightly down market.I don't care if they are small, medium or large cap companies!

Q: Hi, I own both these companies, am now flat or slightly negative. Would you suggest
more patience, or time to move on to better opportunities? Any suggestions for replacements, they are both part of a full portfolio with the goal of dividend as well as capital appreciation. Thanks, Lavern

Q: Peter and Team,
Many thanks for your great service. Despite a full position in GUD I have an order in for more at $8 if it gets back there and bounces. To each his own but I like the idea of a cash-like holding that has a healthy upside potential with a big cash footing; especially one that isn't wasteful and one you support. Do any other companies have similar situations ? Paul
