Q: I am considering buying additional shares in Alimentation Couche Tard (ATD.A) due to the recent drop in price as a result of falling TSX. I just want to confirm that the price decline is due to general market conditions. Thanks. Gerry

Q: I held atd.b (Couche-Tard)since 2009 with significant gain but it is still within 5% of my portfolio as I have not added to it. I had a discussion with a Montreal Portfolio Manager about Couche-Tard today at a meeting. He told me 3 out of the 4 founders at Couche-Tard have or retiring from the company. While these folks have retired they have not sold their own shares yet. This mutual fund PM have existed their position in their fund and moved on to a similar U.S. company. Should I take some profit by reducing my position or exit my position? The security is held in my RRSP.
Q: Hi again 5i Team!
I recently sold my Tim Hortons stock and made a 45% return in just a few short months. I'm looking to replace the holding with another similar stock with high growth/high ROE for a core holding. What would you suggest?
Thanks, Shane

Q: Hi Peter and team,
Alimentation Couche-Tard (ATD) has grown to become my largest holding at just over 6.5%. I am just wondering what your opinion is for the company/stock. I am happy to continue holding but I am also considering selling roughly 1.5% to bring it down to a 5% holding. If I were to do that what stock (growth with a small dividend) would you recommend putting it in?
My other Canadian holdings (which are between 2 and 4% of my portfolio) are AVO, BAD, BEP, CNR, DH, EFN, ESL, EH, MG, OTC, RY, RX,and TD.
Also, just wondering if you are considering covering ATD any time soon?
Thanks very much.

Q: Hi Peter, I have owned ATD.b for about a year and have done well. I read an article in the Globe re atd.b not being entered in the SPX because of various reasons, so while I am happy with my return, the stock has been going sideways for a while. Should I consider,to the point, might I do better with Loblaws in lieu of the above mentioned article. I need growth and income too. I am open to any replacement stock you might recommend if not the above two. Thanks very much.
Q: Hello and good afternoon,
Couche-Tard (ATD.B): the last post re ATD.B was end Apr, and your team spoke highly of it. That was pre-split. Has there been any material change in the corp to explain the decline over the past month (I could not find any news reports)? Ack the pending change of CEO, and perhaps it is simply a breather, providing a sale price in the process?
Thanks in advance. Bob

Q: Hi,
1) Regarding Alimentaion Couche Tard, Moneysense magazine rates it as a value stock and good growth co. The PE for both A and B versions are about 6.5. But when I listen to experts at Stockchase, they all talk about how expensive it is. I'm confused.
2) what do you think of either version as a long term hold?

Q: Now that ATD.B has declared a 3 for 1 stock split would it be wise to buy before or after the split?
Look forward to your reply.

Q: I am underweight in the consumer sector and would like to make an addition, but can’t decide between DOL or ATD.B
I know you like both and I have read the previous posts. Which one do you think is a better value at current pricing and which one offers better growth opportunity going forward? Which would be your overall preference?

Can you please provide your analysis of Alim Couche Tard. It is currently trading at $86 and I am wondering if you like this company a lot and if so, is it ok to buy now (full or half position) or better to wait for pullback?
Thank you. Linda

Q: What is your opinion on Couche Tard. How much growth do you see or is fairly valued here?
Q: Hi, I am trying to pick a consumer staple company to purchase. I have a longer time horizon and currently i don't have a consumer staple company in my portfolio. which is the best one you would recommend for my situation, thanks
Q: WATD'B appears to be a good play on EU recovery. I like the fact they have purchased gas stations and are looking to create convenience stores similar to what we now have in North America.
I believe this ai already built into stock price.
If you believe it is a good stock...should I buy on pullback or current price. Any other concerns or comments appreciated. Thanks Gloria

Q: ATB.D is reporting on Thursday and has had a nice run, any thoughts on taking a position before it reports?
Q: Hi Peter
I have had a very good run with ATD as play on Europe. Should i take profits and what consumer income stock would be alternate in RRSP. Thanks Hamish
