Q: Hi Peter & 5i team,
These are the current holdings in our grandsons RESP ( age 5). We are adding new money. Could you please give your opinion on our current holdings and what suggestion would you have on acquiring a new stock or alternatively topping up an existing one.
Thank you very much.

Q: My mother, presently retired (almost 80) has a little bit of extra savings that I would like to invest in very safe businesses (she has no equity investments at the moment). I am not anticipating much upside, as safety is more important; however, with recent market turmoil there has been no place to hide. As a result a lot of companies, both big and small, both profitable or not, both stable or not have all seen their evaluations erode.
Can you please provide the names of 5-6 Canadian companies preferably in more than on sector (along with a few words explaining why you like these companies) that pay dividends (the higher the better but should not be the only determining factor), that you feel are good companies (and have demonstrated this quality for many years, possibly decades), that have eroded in price for little/no reason and have a good chance of recovering their lost market value.
As an aside, I sometimes feel (without having done any historical analysis) that these are the winners in the long run. They tend to be stable, are of low risk, consistently have some growth, regularly return money (dividends) to their owners, may buy back shares,... And if bought at the right price become pretty good investments with limited risk.
Thank You and Happy Holidays :) !

Q: I am writing to request clarification in your answer to Ray's question earlier today. My understanding is that you recommended selling GSY and replacing it with ATD. Did I understand this correctly? My understanding from your recent reports and Q&As is that you felt that GSY remained a very good pick. Can you please clarify.

Also, thank you so much for your service. You have received a number of questions recently about the market turbulence associated with GSY and your insights have been quite calming. It has been very useful to better understand the details about the (likely short sellers) report on Seeking Alpha.

Q: Hi, I have made some pretty good profits in the marijuana sector but I feel like there's a down turn coming. Can you suggest some companies to invest my profits given the uncertain trade climate and terrifs. Dividends and growth potential are important factors.

Q: I've been to the AmazonGo cashierless store in Seattle and it is very cool. (This is the cashierless variety store where you just put stuff in your bag and walk out). It is the future. I saw yesterday that someone was mentioning or leaking that they plan 3000 stores in the near future. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-09-19/amazon-is-said-to-plan-up-to-3-000-cashierless-stores-by-2021 .
There are several companies working on this cashierless technology including Microsoft for Walmart.
Should ATD.B be worried about this? Or I am thinking that Cashierless technology will be an adopted technology by all and will simply be a monthly software bill to the retail business.
I own Amazon and bought more after returning from visiting the AmazonGo.
Any thoughts?

Q: I find the company information that you added recently to be very useful in my analysis, however sometimes information that was there is no longer available. For example when I previously looked at ATD.B the site contained information on analysts projected earnings and projected share prices. Today the earnings estimates are not available and the stock price estimates have been replaced by measures of analysts buy conviction. Is this a temporary change until information is available? Also do you have an estimate for the forward earnings?
Thanks.
Mike
