Q: Hi.

My portfolio analytics says I'm low on Consumer Defensive. Can you give me 1-2 Canadian stock suggestions and maybe 1-2 ETFs in the US and Canada.

Q: With all the risks out there in the investing world these days it's hard for me to decide on an investing strategy that I can trust enough that I will hold equities even as they react and go down when each new risk becomes noteworthy. I've decided that the best strategy for me is to develop a list of:
1. high quality
2. inexpensive stocks
3. that pay dividends that are sustainable through difficult times.
Based on this strategy what Canadian companies would you invest in now that fit the criteria? I would appreciate 8 of your top picks.

Q: My son has saved up for a bit and has a decent amount of capital for his age. He has a TFSA but his investments are varied and not the best for a long term portfolio. We recently sat down and planned out a long term portfolio that would less risky for long term holdings. Would you guys change/swap, remove or add any from this portfolio of Canadian Stocks? TD, MG, BAM.A, ENB, SLF, FSV, T, FTS, CNR and TRI. Is the market also in a comfortable position to currently make a large investment of capital? Thanks.

Q: In light of the market backdrop & the poor Q on Aug 8 resulting in a 14% haircut that day along with your comments,I humbly and painfully think it will take time for PLTR to recover.Have a 50% loss. of which 66% of shares in my investment a/c & balance in Tsfa.Thinking of selling & replaced it by better stocks like Goog,Amzn,Bam.a,Atd.Please provide u opinion & rank the above stocks starting with best.Please feel free to provide 2 or 3 stocks that u prefer. Q: So much news these days about the ramp up to electric vehicles and the eventual elimination of internal combustion engines.

Governments have committed to installing charging stations to accommodate future demand.

What is the current status of power generating facilities. How easily can they ramp up supply to satisfy the future demand or is there already enough capacity.

What are your favourite power generators to satisfy future demand. Thank you

Q: HI, This retired income couple want to invest 5K for our 20 year old grand daughter from our TFSA. To do so we have to sell some of our holdings in this account. Our largest holding SLF to our smallest TPZ are available with profits in most. Please suggest best to worst to select for raising the necessary cash. Our plan is to use the cash to purchase VGT.US or perhaps your other preferred etfs to be used in about 3-5 years. Thanks

Q: I know you rate this stock as an A and according to your report, think quite highly of it.

Well I've held this stock for 4 years and it is at the same level today as it was Jan 2019. It's down approx 40% since Jan 22.

Basically dead money. Other than the 2% dividend, I could have done as well in a 5 year GIC.

Is it time to throw in the towel. I believe I am a patient investor, but like you patience does run out.

If your answer is yes what is your top TSX listed NON TECH suggestion to replace it.

If your answer is no, why?
