Q: I have held DSG for about 2 years in my RRSP and currently down about 24%. This position represents about 1.75% weight in the RRSP account and 0.48% of all investment accounts. I know 2 yrs may not a long time to give an investment a change but in this day of over performing tech stocks it seems that OTEX is not able to execute. Do you agree with this view? If I decide to exit, do you have 2 or 3 options to switch into?
Thanks for all the help.

Q: You recently said that trimming the weeds in a portfolio is something to believe in. Is SYZ a weed? I have held this stock for more than ten years and 5i's coverage of it was one of the reasons for my original subscription. I like the unique sector SYZ operates in and its growth potential, but I am losing patience and wondering if it is time to move on. If I sold SYZ I would add to my other Canadian software holdings, namely OTEX, ENGH, TCS and AIF, but I hesitate because SYZ provides diversification and may yet turn around. As always, I welcome your insight.

these three ETFs have stellar one year performance to January 6th according to your March issue of Money Saver magazine. Do you see them topped out for the present or would you still see a buying opportunity here

Q: Can you please comment on OTEX's debt and payout ratio ? - a concern to me. Is this what is weakening the share price?

Is its business comparable to that of CSU or LMN ? I am aware of all the strengths of the latter two - including great management, but does OTEX really deserve what appears to be a substantially lower relative valuation?

Q: Hello again, I was not very clear on my question re: additions to Canadian dividend growth portfolio. I would like your top 5 preferences out of the 10 stocks listed, which are all currently held.

The suggestions you made are fine and most of those are also held, but for various reasons including existing position sizes I want to add to the group indicated. Thank you.

Q: Greetings, the above companies are all currently held (among others) in a Canadian dividend growth portfolio. For new money, what would be your top 5 choices to add to today? Long-term hold, income and stability with growth potential are key criteria. Would also like to maintain some sector diversification.

Thank you.

Q: In your opinion, which five(5) Canadian companies are best positioned to increase their net value because of Ai? Thank you!

Q: The AI fields are currently very much the talk of the tech world. Do you have names of Canadian companies active in the AI fields, other than OTEX, we can check out as names of interest for potential investment? Thanks.

Q: Looking to deploy some cash and I'm considering either CAE or Open Text in light of their recent share price declines.
Which one of the two would you consider to have the most potential for share price appreciation over the next 3-5 years, and why?
Appreciate your thoughts, Rick

Q: Hi 5i,

I have held OTEX for many years as a 1.5% weighting and have a loss in a registered account. I am currently underweight tech and would like to slowly increase this sector. Based on the recent earnings and the division sale would you recommend adding, holding, or moving on with the position as a portfolio cleanup? If OTEX was sold would adding to a small position in CSU be a good move?

Q: Greetings, I am thinking of selling ET and adding to OTEX to consolidate holdings in Canadian technology. How would you compare these companies in terms of their future runway for growth and current valuation? Do you think this is a wise move, or would you sell them both? Thank you.

Q: Hello, I have the following in my TFSA: GIB.A, OTEX, NVEI, KXS, DSG, DOL, NXR.UN, with more or less the same weight. I am under water with NVEI, KXS, NXR.UN. Should I just sell OTEX, DSG and GIB.A and buy XIT instead and wait for NVEI and KXS to break even before selling them and buy XIT? I know XIT has 50% in SHOP and CSU and 5i likes CSU very much. I am less sure about SHOP. What is your opinion of SHOP for a long term hold? I did not fully understand their recent change of strategy. FYI, I have US tech names in a cash account, that’s why I am looking at CDN names in my TFSA. Thanks.
