Q: Today, would you buy LNR with p/b of 0.95 and no debt or MG with 2.7B debt and b/b of 1.91. LNR has a wide range of products, other than automotive.
When is LSPD a screaming buy with p/b of 1.13 and 900M in cash?
Many thanks!

Q: Good Morning Peter & Team.

I have two questions. Please charge me accordingly. Both have to do with ramifications from increasing cost of OIL.

1. Do you think the ever increasing price of gasoline is going to push more people towards EV and if so, what would be your recommended play to take advantage of this?

2. Commodities especially those coming from mining, and especially those used in the EV industry, appear to be on the rise. What recommendations would you make for us to take advantage of this trend? Right now I have RIO & DML on my radar.

Thanks for all you do

Q: Magna is currently dropping significantly and I understand they have 6 manufacturing/assembly factories in Russia along with 2500 employees. What do you foresee the impact this year and longer term.

I'm sure inflation and the semi-conductor shortage are also having an impact on stock price, yet I expect to a lesser extent.

Do you see this as a buy and what would be a good target price?

Thanks!

Q: The above stocks all seem to be pretty good value, do you agree? How do you see the next 6-12 months for them? Should I consider certain growth stocks at this point instead?

Thanks,

Q: I own EIF in my TFSA. It has proven to be a steady dividend paying stock, holding up quite well in this downturn. My other stocks are small cap, some up some down. However, history has shown that the recent decline in stock prices present an opportunity for oversized gains. I would not expect this with EIF, and am looking to BAM, GSY, and MG for a larger eventual bounce, with the NASDAQ 100 as another option. TFSA Is a small part of total portfolio. Your thoughts on this switch with a discussion on these 4 is appreciated. Derek

Q: 2 Questions related to Canadian stocks paying dividends in USD:
(1) I want more US cash and plan to have Questrade journal over the above CA stocks to the US equivalent in a TFSA. Is there any special considerations here when doing this? Best to do this on a day when the Canadian dollar is stronger?
(2) In a margin account, Questrade journaled over AQN:CA to AQN:US on February 3/22. I have held AQN:CA for more than 1 year and sold all of AQN:US today at a small loss. Will CRA see the later loss as a superficial loss, because the US listed stock was held for less than 30 days? Thanks!

Q: I would like more USD for travelling to the US. I hold all of the above stocks at Questrade, in both registered and unregistered accts. I asked Questrade to please pay the dividend directly in USD (as paid by the companies), but they said "We would have to journal your positions over to the USD equivalent in order to receive the dividends in USD." Should I journal over the CAN shares to the US equivalent; eg AQN.TO to AQN.US? It would involve a very large amount of money, could I expect a better USD exchange rate with greater volume or would they simply use the day's spot rate?
