Q: Given that RIT holds nearly all the REITs [including the two mentioned here] and their dividend is higher, does it make sense to simply hold RIT [even if their fees are higher]?

Q: A number of Canadian REITs are spinoffs of the properties of big Canadian companies. How do I, as a potential REIT investor, have confidence that the bigger parent (i.e. Magna, Loblaws, Canadian Tire etc.) will not strong-arm the REIT when it comes to rent negotiations etc. ?

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and team,

My wife's TFSA consists of the above holdings. NFI is down 73.4%, and XMA is a tiny holding where we park cash (no commission with iTrade). The others are doing well, but perhaps they're not the best when held in a TFSA. Are there any outright sells, and what suggestions do you have to employ the possible cash? We'd like a bit more oomph from this account. Your advice is very valuable.

I recently bought some GRT.UN in this space, and it's done well so far, yet I notice that it's rarely mentioned as a possible buy, as the above Q & A shows. Is there something 'inherently wrong' with Granite as the reason it's not a 'top pick' for 5i?

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

I know that you still like AP.UN, but if one feels that there could be better results elsewhere, how would you feel about a switch to GRT.UN? Allied has done well in my wife's TFSA, but I'm a bit uneasy about the office property sector in the short to medium term. Or do you have any other suggestions in the same sector? Q: I would like to reduce my exposure to REITs and reallocate to other sectors. Considering selling some of these 6. I have a long term focus - 5+ years, looking at total return over that time. May I have your opinion of these in order from best to worst for total return for a long term hold. I'm assuming all will get through this economic disruption OK. Q: Hello 5i,
I have owned CSH.UN for about 18 months, am getting frustrated by the lack of growth.
Am after a REIT for income in RRIF. Am considering SIA & GRT.UN as possible replacements. Will be a long time hold, am after a decent yield with some growth possibilities. What are your thoughts including any other alternatives in the space.
