Q: hello 5i:
First, a comment. I've complimented you on the service you offer, so no need to go back there. But I would like to add that this Q and A forum has become a necessity for me: first place I look EVERY DAY, and I'm constantly surprised by the things I learn reading questions from my peers (and of course your answers). Also get some very good portfolio ideas, so that is a thank you to all that write in.
Second: Peter, can I have your single best idea for the Health Care Sector (I currently have no exposure to this sector); stability is more important than growth (70/30) and a dividend is essential. Thanks, I'll look forward to this.

Q: Hey, guys. A question on strategy. If you were to put capital at work during market downturns, would you accumulate class "A" names that are perhaps more defensive like Cineplex or Telus, that haven't fallen as much, or would you accumulate lower class names (but still high quality) like D.UN that have fallen more significantly. I guess another option would be to split your capital between the two types of names like 60% higher quality names that haven't fallen as much and 40% good quality names that have taken a beating. Your insights are, as always, appreciated.

Q: Caldwell Partners released their Q4 results yesterday earning 0.056 per share The last 2 quarters combined they have earned almost $0.10 per share. Even though revenues are slightly down it seems very undervalued not to mention the 8% dividend yield. Do you agree? Are you thinking of rating this stock?

Q: Hello Peter and team, really enjoy 5i Research and what it’s doing for the small investor. Which stocks stand a better chance in the future between: Tim Horton (THI) at its 52 week low, PE of 18 and 1.8% dividend, AW.UN with a PE of 17 and 7% dividend or BPF.UN no sure I got this right but PE of 41 according to Globe and Mail. Is THI a buy now, should I wait and see how THI expansion goes in the USA. Thank you, Ronald

Q: Hi, I understand some investors are selling US dividend stocks because of the possible increase in stock taxes in the US. Is this true? If true and said US dividend stock drops, will the same CDN dividend stock listed on the TSX drop too? If so, does this present good a opportunity to accumulate shares in the same stock on TSX? Thanks Larry

Q: CHE.UN. I read your recent commentary on this company. I am surprised that this stock is not down considerably considering they have missed their last four quarterly EPS estimates?? This is according to the data I have from CIBC Investors Edge. Most companies miss and the shares get punished beyond what one would consider reasonable. Your further comments please.

Q: Any thoughts on HNZ.a? I know they missed a little with earnings this week. But a 20% haircut looks harsh.

Q: Wajax (WJX) and Genivar (GNV)

Two-part question:

I have recently added these to my (beginning-investor) portfolio, only to see (abnormally-large?) large drops in recent days in both stocks. In general reading on various investor sites, both of these are identified as "currently-oversold" -- what does this term mean?

I understand the police raids on GNV's office are likely a significant factor in that share price drop (?), but can you offer any insight into what's happening at WJX?

(I added both to my portfolio for what I think were and still are sound business reasons, and have no intention of bailing out!)

Q: Great job, 5i team. I am learning a great deal as a result of your efforts. I am curious as to your thinking on Student Transportation (STB). It seemed to recover a bit after the bout of short selling in the summer but has more recently begun a further decline at a pace that exceeds that of the market generally. With an ACB of about $5.80, should I move out of this or is there life in the old bus still? Thanks

I've recently been looking at Transglobe Energy (TGL). Can you give me your opinion of this company? Thanks

Q: Could I get your opinion on the news from Mart today. I have fairly large part of my portfolio in it and still have a gain of roughly 10%. Should I be patient as this is temporary or step out while I have a small profit. I hate to sell at a bottom or panic with so many positives ahead for the company, but could they be shut in for a long time? Thanks
