Q: I would like to do some tax loss selling and was wondering if you might be able to rank RBLX, SQ, TOY, GH, OVV, and COW in order from those with the least potential to recover over the next year, to the most potential. I appreciated your help last year on the same topic. If I were to sell them all, are there any you would consider buying back after 30 days? Thanks.

Q: I own these energy stocks and some are on the plus side and others are on the losing side. I've been waiting for quite some time for the Chinese economy to take off, but it seems to go nowhere ? I would like to trim some of my holdings. Please place them in order of what you would keep down to some you would let go. Maybe you could code them as 10 being the best and 1 as being the worst. Thanks.

Q: What is your opinion on the prospects of Cenovus(CVE) and Ovintiv(OVV) over the next 5 and 10 years ? What are your thoughts on selling them (old stocks that could be sold for a tax loss) and replacing them, as a long-term hold, with some Brookfield stock (BN, BEP and/or BIP)? If you favor that, which Brookfield company would you recommend be given the greatest weight ? Or is it better to hold onto those oil and gas stocks for a while?

Q: Could you please advise what percentages of there production is in oil, in gas, and in liquids for companies pey, arx, bir, tou, and ovv. Seeing that the new gas pipeline to the coast is expected to begin operations in early 2024 for LNG, I wonder which of these 5 companies is best suited to take advantage of this pipeline, or any other company that comes to mind. Many tnx.

Q: Great 5i team, There are times like this; I will need to put my cash holding to work. I kept trimming energy names in our family portfolio to under 10% and staying on the sidelines for the last few months. Your thoughts are very much appreciated with these 2 questions: which one that you would pick 3 out of these 7 energy names and which sector that you will allocate the funds? I am light in industrial and health care. Thanks for your input.

Q: Good morning,

I added these at the very low point of energy. 5% equal weight of my portfolio, now it becomes 20% ish. I am looking to cutting down by half. Should I keep the pipelines ENB & PPL & VET and cut the rest or just reduce across equal weight. Your thought is very much appreciated.

Thanks again!

Q: I am considering selling OVV at a considerable loss and replacing it with Whitecap for the 30 day tax loss. At that time I will compare the progress of the 2 stocks to decide whether to stay with WCP or move back to OVV. I’m inclined to think I should stay with WCP as they have a good dividend and I already have some shares. I would not be overweight in WCP. Is there a different oil stock you would suggest instead of WCP?
Thanks for your always great advise.
John

What do you think of my strategy and what are your thoughts on the 2 companies.

Q: The way the three stocks have been rising lately, from their current stock prices, is it likely that the stock price of these three companies will go up by approximately 50% in the next 6 months or so, the reason for the question is I am looking at buying now and selling in 6 months time and make some quick profit. Dividend is not a consideration at all. Any other companies you can suggest for 50% increase in stock price in 6 months?
