Q: HI guys,
I own shares in ESL which is down 25% this year so far. I am debating adding to this sector by purchasing SH or selling ESL. What are your expectations for SH for 2016-2017?
I also own MST.UN through a non registered personal account and am looking to buy D.UN-they are giving a 9.2% return. Would you consider this a good acquisition given the low real estate environment in Alberta? Do you think keeping this in a personal non- registered account is a good move with respect to taxes?
Also I plan to buy shares in Suncor and then doing closed calls. I have never done this before and am nervous about it because I don't really understand it. I also don't know which website to use to research calls and sells on a daily basis. Any suggestions?
Thanks for all your help,
Rob

Q: I made an ill-advised investment in Potash Corp some time ago (should have asked for your opinion)and I'm down well over 20%. I was thinking of switching this money into AFN and AGU to sort of stay in sector. Your opinion please and thanks.

Q: Over the last week or so, Mosaic has appreciated far more than Agrium (or even Potash Corp); can you explain this divergence within a sector in which, I would think, stocks would rise in-tandem? Conversely, given Mosaic's appreciation, is Agrium in some sense mis-priced?

Q: Good Morning 5i,

I am looking to buy AGU for long term hold for appr. 5% of my portfolio. I know it does not only have potash in it's product line, are they other products strong enough to wash out the negative that potash product is going through and is it a good time to buy AGU?

Thanks

Paul

Q: Just a quick follow up to the question asked earlier by Kathleen in regards to moving AGU from US $ to CAD$, there will be no tax on the move of AGU because it has not been sold but there will be tax on the currency exchange I believe, selling US $$ at a gain I presume.

Q: Do you still prefer AGU over POT and if so can you give details as to why? I'm noticing a higher debt level than POT particularly when compared to market cap or enterprise value. My biggest concern is 1/ dividend sustainability and even more so 2/ getting thru a horrific storm (if this thing gets much worse) without going under.

Q: We are thinking of taking a 3% weighting in either CCL.B or AGU. Our US dollar weighting is currently around 20% which may be too low. We have cash and I would probably sell some ALA in which we are slightly overweight (6%). I suppose our bank stocks (BNS & TD) are inter listed on the NYSE so the shares could simply be transferred to increase the US dollar weighting and purchase CCL.B. I am aware AGU offers a better dividend than CCL.B. We don't own any agriculture stocks but have a number of industrials - MDA, NFI, WSP, ALC & LGT.B. I like all those companies and don't want to sell any of them. In fact I intend to buy more MDA & LGT.B. (I assume CCL.B is sort of an industrial stock). Do you have any random thoughts one way or the other?

Q: Hi team:
AGU is at 135, a nice return of 20% for me
according to the seasonal investors, AGU does better in the summer months, do you think that the fundamentals of this stock is still solid to hold or should I take some money off the table ?
thanks! (I lost some money on POT)

Q: Hello Again Folks:
As a retired farmer I am interested in agricultural companies. The only one I currently own is Agrium (many years) which continues struggling because of fundamental issues. Most miners including Agrium and Potash Corp are in the same difficult situation. Are you aware of other agricultural based companies with better outlooks.......I have owned Monsanto and Archer Daniels in the past?
Thank you again for your consideration.
