Q: I am Following your balanced portfolio. There are significant losses in AEM and WCP and both are a tax loss opportunity. I am considered changing these for KL and PXT? The later two have much better momentum and I think look much better on their technical charts over the last 3-5 years. Both are less than 3% positions each. What is your opinion?

Q: I'm considering buying an out of the money call on AEM expiring next Jan. or Feb . As you're aware the stock and call prices are very depressed at this time. If gold prices take of at some point, the calls should do quite well. I now own a small position in GDX at a sizeable loss (20%)
Your comments appreciated.
thanks

Q: Good afternoon 5i team
My wife and I are retirees and conservative investors. On the recent decline, I initiated a 1% position (in total) in the captioned gold stocks; it added diversification to our portfolio. Given that gold securities could suffer in a general market decline, I'm wondering if I should continue to add towards a 5% position now, or wait for further possible declines to increase our position. Thank you for your comments. Edward

Q: Howdy!
I am slowly repositioning the Canadian equity portion of my RRSP portfolio to emulate your Balanced Equity Portfolio.
About 27% of my portfolio is sitting on cash right now; I do not yet own the listed companies - Are they all good to buy today? Or please rank them in order of value for purchase today versus perhaps holding off a quarter or two.
Thank you

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I want to start playing a little defence. I do have a well diversified portfolio which I am pleased with. However I do believe in the Boy Scouts motto of being prepared. Prepared for the unexpected or next recession which many analysts say is 12-18 months down the road. So I am thinking of getting some gold which has been flat for a considerable time which may be a plus when considering timing. So please give me a couple of gold stocks that are currently under valued and one can be a contrarian play as I will add several to my holdings. Also do you think I might be too early and should wait for pull backs? Thanks for your consistent excellence!

Q: Hi,
I currently do not have a lot of exposure to the materials sector (my % is at 6% versus my target of 8%). Other than owning CCL, my only exposure is thru the broad based ETF's I own.
I would like your suggestion regarding what would be your top companies in this sector at present time (3 to 4). I am more of a growth at a reasonable price investor and prefer owning companies that either pay a dividend or are buying back shares.
Thanks for your help.
