- Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAR.UN)
- Chartwell Retirement Residences (CSH.UN)
- Brookfield Property Partners L.P. (BPY.UN)
- InterRent Real Estate Investment Trust (IIP.UN)
Q: I currently don't have any REITs in my income portfolio but am now considering adding a couple. I was considering the above 4 but really want to add only 2 names. Which would you consider or would you suggest something else? Looking for reasonable income with an eye on preserving capital during rising interest rates.
Q: I,ve owned this company for a long time. I sold half of my position a few years ago at a much higher price. should I keep this stock or can you steer me to a better yielding stock. thanks bill
- H&R Real Estate Investment Trust (HR.UN)
- Artis Real Estate Investment Trust (AX.UN)
- Brookfield Property Partners L.P. (BPY.UN)
Q: I have funds to invest in the office/retail sector. I could add to positions I hold in Brookfield Property Partners and H&R, or I could buy Artis. Your opinion?
- ARC Resources Ltd. (ARX)
- Chartwell Retirement Residences (CSH.UN)
- Brookfield Property Partners L.P. (BPY.UN)
Q: I am about to sell ARX for a tax loss. Which is a better buy at the moment for the longer term hold?
Q: BPY has been range bound for 4 years - between $24-$29. At $24.70 today, it is essentially at the same level as in Jan'15. Would appreciate your views on why you think this is happening? Do you see any signs of corporate changes on the horizon that would be positive for price appreciation? Is it financial performance? An issue of management capability? Of Street expectation management? The rising interest rate outlook is a relatively recent negative. I had expected that with the Brookfield reputation for management excellence, a DY of ~6.5% and an annualized DGR of >5% we would see a 5% to 10% annual share price appreciation over the long term. Thanks.
Q: In an effort to replicate a REIT ETF I hold the following REITs
which in total compromise 12 percent of my portfolio.
BPY/DIR/HR/NVU/SIA.
I am thinking of adding CHP which would increase the percentage held to 13 percent. Do you think that this would provide reasonable exposure to the various segments within the REIT sector or would you suggest something else.
Thank you for considering my question.

Q: Hello- I was considering a purchase of BPY.UN but I'm concerned that Ross Healy
a few days ago said "the market is concerned about the quality of the balance sheet, which is on the weak side." With 2 more interest rate increases projected this year,
does that make BPY too risky?
Thanks

Q: Hi,
My question is: With the swamp that seems to be filling and not draining in the US, and the reported near-deal between BPY.UN/BAM.A (one of their biggest investors is the Qatar Investment Authority) and the Kushners in New York for 666 Fifth Ave., do you see any heightened risks owning BAM.A/BPY.UN? If so, what, if any action should an investor be considering?
Many thanks, Michael

Q: I have a question about 985
If sector is not an issue, would you replace BPY.UN which i’am down 12% with CPX? This would be for a 3+ year hold with income and stability a priority.
Or could you suggest a better alternative to BPY?
Thanks
