Q: Gold has gone up a lot and July is gold seasonal strength, would you buy Abx at today's price? Do you think Abx has better value than small caps gold stock ( i own WDO). I know KL and Aem are your favourite gold stocks but they are quite expensive right now. Your thoughts please, thanks
Q: I have exposure to gold in the above companies. I'd appreciate any comments you may have in regards to whether to dump or hold, and which gold companies may provide a good alternative at present. I'm thinking some consolidation might be a good idea (too many positions). Thanks.
AGI, ATC, ABX, GFI, GSV, OGC, PVG, SBB
Q: I am looking to add to my small position in Barrick, can you tell me if now would be a good time to buy. I suspect that the talk of acquiring Newmount in an all-stock deal will continue to put pressure on Barrick stock but would love to hear your take. Thanks.
Q: I hear that Barrick Gold might be interested in purchasing a gold company in Canada which produces at least 500,000 ounces of gold yearly. Do you think that Kirkland Lake Gold might be a candidate for a takeover by Barrick Gold? KL seems to fill all of Barrick's requirements. What are your feelings on such a takeover? Tnx
Q: RBC has down graded ABX mostly because of concerns with the Acacia mine in Tanzania. I would like to increase my investment in ABX, as I think the market may be turning to the gold sector for safety in these turbulent times. How concerned should I be about the RBC report? Do you agree? In past comments you have favoured/suggested alternative gold companies, do you have a preference today? ABX is my only gold holding...………..Thankyou, Lionel
Q: Have to raise cash for YE withdrawal from my RIF. These are the smallest holding and are under water. Would you please rank them as to which you recommend to sell. Your input is appreciated. Thank you.

Q: Is it a good thing that Barrick Gold is getting together with Randgold Resources? Also, do I vote for or against the acquisition of Randgold by Barrick Gold?
Q: Happy Thanksgiving to All! I am doing a little portfolio clean up. These are the names I am considering selling: Atco (ACO), Barrick (ABX), Census (CVE), Stantec (STN). Are any still worth holding? Why? Can you offer replacement ideas within the same sector? I am about a decade from retirement and prefer stocks with a (growing) dividend, and also have potential for price appreciation. I have a buy and hold investment style.
Q: i did like the article on John Thornton and his somewhat "out of the box" go forward strategy but is it worth holding on to it now that it has likely bottomed out. if it is, what is your view about how long it will take to turn around the stock price.
Q: I am planning to sell ABX to take a tax loss. However, I like to stay invest in the gold/gold miner sector. I can get my wife to buy back ABX or any of the above companies. I would like your opinion on your preferred investment vehicle in gold/gold miner at this time > any of the above 5 companies? or do you have any other favorite company in this sector ? BTW, can you let me know if I buy ABX in the NYSE, will its dividend qualified for Canadian dividend tax credit ? Thank you.
Q: I've been holding Barrick Gold and Wheaton for awhile now and I'm down 20% and 15% on them. Is it time to cut my losses and dump them, or continue to hold them as a hedge against a possible downturn?
Q: Hi! I own Barrick (ABX) & down 48% (~ -$6K loss) and Wajax & down 38% (~ -$6K loss), should I continue to hold in the chance they improve or would you recommend selling now and taking a loss? Thx Kim
Q: Hi, I want to increase my sector weightings in Manufacturing and Industrial stocks, plus obtain some Income. I currently hold Barrick ($7K); CAE ($37K); CNR ($58K), Intel ($20K); Pfizer($17K)and Wajax ($10K). Looking to invest $40K more in this area, your suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Q: I was thinking of getting back into a larger cap gold company taking advantage of the months long dip. Which one of the 2 companies would be the best choice?
Q: In anticipation of inflation I am planning to buy some gold stock/ETFs. Above I listed some of the Gold stocks I am interested, which one of them would you recommend or do you have another suggestion.
Thanks
