Q: Despite TCW (Trican) having tripled in the past year, it is still far below my purchase price of $18.73 thus I am not too enthusiastic about the company especially considering your responses to others' questions. I also hold some shares in TDG (Trinidad) which I have suffered about a 15% loss. First, I question whether the drilling and oil services area is an area where one should invest as to me it just seems like a hole to throw money at. If I should continue to invest in the area should I perhaps sell one or both of Trican and Trinidad and then buy HWO (High Arctic Energy Services)? I do not need money immediately and have at least a five year investment horizon. As always, I appreciate very much your advice.
Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I am working on the assumption that issuing more shares is usually not good for the share price. TDG will reduce debt and upgrade equipment...etc. So in this case does it have more positive merits than negative? Please give your thoughts on this "bought deal financing". I am also wondering if the mere fact that there are investors at all is a positive sign in going forward!?
Thank you!

Q: Hi Peter & Ryan,
I'm a little overweight in the Energy sector and was wondering if I could have your thoughts on Trinidad Drilling. Would you be a seller or would you hold on to this one? Thanks. Mario.

Q: In a previous question, someone asked what drillers would best respond to an oil rebound, you mentioned Precision Drilling PD and High Arctic HWO. What about Trinidad?

Q: I've owned this for a few months now and I'm down about 45%. I'm fearful of falling into the trap of buying high and selling low. What are your thoughts on this company overall for an 18-24 month hold ?
Q: Hi there,
Eric Nuttall was recently touting TDG as ripe for opening a position in the $4.30 range. Do you have an opinion on this as a 3-5 year holding? Good entry point? If you don't like TDG is there an energy or energy services company you like more?
Thanks!

All I can say is "HELP"! TDG went down today almost 10% on hugh volumne of 8.8M shares. I realize that in takeovers the purchasers shares usually decline and of course the other side is delighted with the premium and cash in their hand.Several consultants seem to think that this deal was constructive and had long term value for TDG.Yesterday Eric Nuttall on BNN was very optimistic in the long term for TDG claiming it was very cheap and made it a Top Pick.I am not sure if he was taking this deal into his calculation. In any event I would like your assessment of this deal and share holder reaction. Are they panicking...are they being too short sighted or are they smarter that management?
Your info and insights are always valuable and help me sleep at night!Ha!Ha! Thanks again!

Q: Hi Guys, TDG has just announced a "strategic business combination" with CanElson although it appears more of a take-over. What do you think of this transaction.

Q: Good luck on bnn today Peter. Any news update on tdg today as its been awhile. Thanx Cliff
Q: HI Team,
I currently own equal weightings in both TDG and WRG. WRG has held up far better than my TDG holding. What do you think about consolidating under just one name? Which one would you suggest better to hold for my exposure in this sector. Alternatively, is PD a better play than either of them?
Thank you

Q: on the subject of drillers you recommended a number of them, what are your thoughts on Trinidad drilling?
Q: Trinidad Drilling TDG is currently off by 5.11%, apparently in response to Raymond James downgrading from outperform to strong buy, while raising the target to $11.75 from $11.25. Can or should a brokerage cause such a strong negative reaction in the market, or is there something else going on? Add more at this time??

Q: Hi. I own the preferred shares, TD.PR.O, for which TD has the redemption option of redeeming the shares after Nov 1, 2010 at a premium & after October 31, 2014 for C$25. No ware on the TD web site can I find what “at a premium means”. Do you know what the premium value would be? Thanks for your help. … Cal
Q: Peter, your thoughts please on TDG Trinidad Drilling, company and sector. Would you prefer any of their competitors over this company? Thanks.
