Q: I now hold TRP & SOBO in both my TFSA & and my cash account. I would like to consolidate the SOBO into one account. Any tho'ts. or suggestions on where on where it might be best to hold the SOBO going forward? Most of my pipeline holdings are in PPL and am happy in its distribution in my different accounts. Thanks, Bill

Q: I have a question about South Bow- Are they a true pipeline company only? In the event the price of oil rose, would they benefit from that, or do they get paid the same shipping a $70 barrel vs a $100 barrel? If the same then I feel it is a volume game, they get more revenue for extra barrels they ship. And the yield and price likely remain stable if WTI rises dramatically. If so then this is a pure income play not capital gain added on top. Thanks
Q: Valuation: At a 2.80can div I value the stock at 40 about 7.1%. So is it under valued or just asset growth misunderstood ie add value within its now unrestricted markets? Its oil provide cash to amp up non oil feeders.
Q: After the run up of CEU, do you think a switch to SOBO makes sense? I'm looking for long term 8-10% total income annually.
Q: Good morning,
Just looking for confirmation of the recently-announced TRP and SOBO dividends.
I see TRP @ C$0.823 for an indicative yield of 4.85%.
I see SOBO @ US$.50, for an indicative C$ yield of ~ 8.5%.
It would seem to me that if one is + on the space, given recent analyst estimates for both companies, owning both makes sense over the near-term. While I like the SOBO yield, I had forgotten that the TRP yield would drop a bit.
Thanks as always.

Q: I'm trying to get my portfolio up to date on Quicken. Having a problem finding the value of SOBO as of the date of the spinoff.
Thank you.

Q: I have SOBO, TRP, and ENB. I need to trim my positions. If I wanted to keep my ENB and was aiming for the best diversification, which would make sense to trim: SOBO or TRP. Thanks.

Q: In a portfolio with banks at 42% (TD, and National), energy at 35% (TC, Sobo, and Tourmaline) and consumer discretionary 16% (ATD), what companies would you suggest diversifying into? This is my husband's account and he buys and holds. He will be selling Telus and needs some options for telecommunications and more. Could he be more diversified? He is asking my advice but I appreciate hearing from you.
Many thanks.

Q: I have small positions in these stocks and I'm also overweight in Canadian stocks, so considering raising some cash to invest in U.S. and/or international stocks.
Please rate these in terms of whether to hold (and, if so, how much patience might be
needed) or sell.

Q: I would appreciate your thoughts on switching my TVE shares to SOBO. SOBO is showing good momentum following the spin off from TRP whereas TVE has range bound for quite some time. I hold an adequate amount of TRP and my only other O&G holding is ENB.
Q: Hello
Which of the two listed companies would you buy now for income and growth and why?
Thanks
Jeff

Q: On the website of SOBO it is stated that the SOBO dividend will be 14% of the TRP dividend prior to spin off. Therefore the amount of SOBO dividend will be 14% x $3.84 = 54 cents. This will give a dividend yield of about 1.7%.
But some analysts are stating that SOBO's dividend will be north of 9%.
Can you please clarify this discrepancy ?
Thanks

Q: Have read previous answers about the ACB being the price on day one of trading or $30. My broker has has assigned a ACB of $12.99 per share and reduced my ACB of TRP by #shares X 12.99. Which version is correct?
Q: Based on the presentation on their website the dividend for SOBO is anticipated to be $2.76/yr which would equate to around 9%. This seems like a really safe buying opportunity……. Thoughts? How did they determine the spin off price to result in such a high dividend?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: With about a 9% indicative yield at current stock price - SOBO looks very attractive as income investment for the medium-long term. I can't believe that the spin-out would be created with anything but a very solid sustainable dividend - so the high dividend yield in this case is more a sign of unfamiliarity and churn as opposed to "risk". Do you agree with this view??
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Is this a buy for a TFSA. Already hold TRP-T in the TFSA, Comments .
Q: In a recent answer to a members question you made reference to "free" SOBO shares - resulting from the TRP spin out. I received spin out shares previously where the parent company share price was lowered as part of the spin out. Simply put were the SOBO shares in fact "free"?

Q: As a dividend value investor with a five year or more outlook, should I keep the few SOBO shares, should I sell the shares and by more TRP or should I boost the number of SOBO shares?
