Q: Good morning,

About a month ago I took a tax-loss sale on BCE. Was a ~ 2% weighting. My 30 day "waiting period" is up this Friday, and now I am undecided as to buy it back, initiate a 2% position in SOBO, or do 1% BCE and 1% SOBO. I know you don't love to comment on portfolio weightings, but if you were me, what would you do?

Thanks as always.

Q: I now hold TRP & SOBO in both my TFSA & and my cash account. I would like to consolidate the SOBO into one account. Any tho'ts. or suggestions on where on where it might be best to hold the SOBO going forward? Most of my pipeline holdings are in PPL and am happy in its distribution in my different accounts. Thanks, Bill

Q: I have a question about South Bow- Are they a true pipeline company only? In the event the price of oil rose, would they benefit from that, or do they get paid the same shipping a $70 barrel vs a $100 barrel? If the same then I feel it is a volume game, they get more revenue for extra barrels they ship. And the yield and price likely remain stable if WTI rises dramatically. If so then this is a pure income play not capital gain added on top. Thanks

Q: Good morning,

Just looking for confirmation of the recently-announced TRP and SOBO dividends.

I see TRP @ C$0.823 for an indicative yield of 4.85%.
I see SOBO @ US$.50, for an indicative C$ yield of ~ 8.5%.

It would seem to me that if one is + on the space, given recent analyst estimates for both companies, owning both makes sense over the near-term. While I like the SOBO yield, I had forgotten that the TRP yield would drop a bit.

Thanks as always.

Q: In a portfolio with banks at 42% (TD, and National), energy at 35% (TC, Sobo, and Tourmaline) and consumer discretionary 16% (ATD), what companies would you suggest diversifying into? This is my husband's account and he buys and holds. He will be selling Telus and needs some options for telecommunications and more. Could he be more diversified? He is asking my advice but I appreciate hearing from you.

Many thanks.
V.

Q: I have small positions in these stocks and I'm also overweight in Canadian stocks, so considering raising some cash to invest in U.S. and/or international stocks.

Please rate these in terms of whether to hold (and, if so, how much patience might be
needed) or sell.

Q: On the website of SOBO it is stated that the SOBO dividend will be 14% of the TRP dividend prior to spin off. Therefore the amount of SOBO dividend will be 14% x $3.84 = 54 cents. This will give a dividend yield of about 1.7%.
But some analysts are stating that SOBO's dividend will be north of 9%.

Can you please clarify this discrepancy ?
Thanks
