Q: Recently Veritas’ D.Souza cut most of the big canadian banks to sell. Could I have forward P/E for each of them? I doubt it, but do you agree with M. D’Souza that the banks are a bit overpriced looking at 2023?
Thanks

Q: I would like to add a few (2-4) financial companies to my non-registered investment portfolio. Would appreciate 5i's help in ranking the above names based on total return potential for a 3-5 year hold. Please add any names you feel belong to the lineup, ranked appropriately, Thank you.
Q: Seems like the new CEO at Laurentian Bank since October 2020 is impressive. Last two quarters have been very positive. First female bank CEO and many females in management and diversity on the board. Check out the ESG journey in their recent report.

This is a feel good investment for me.
I think people are waiting for their strategic review report.
Would like your comments including financials results.

Q: LB:CA the market seems to approve but wondering your thoughts on earnings. Is there growth moving forward. Been a fast run up. Do you think it's good to hold this stock now or put the money elsewhere? Another bank perhaps or LNF.
Q: Hi 5i
Current holder of LB...They just reported earnings today and I see stock price is up.
How did their results stack up compared to other banks and does this improve your opinion of them?
What does there future look like moving forward? That is, would you expect them to continue to move more or less in lock step with the sector?
Finally...Would you continue to hold or sell?
Thx
Jim

Q: Hi 5i,
Banks reporting positive news and share prices are moving up.
Do you expect Laurentian's upcoming earnings to be positive and hopefully also a positive catalyst for share price?
Thx

Q: Hi folks,
I own some LB, I see it has increased in price over the last few days but do not understand why it is moving up. I understand financial results will be released soon are they going to be favourable.
I am also concerned about more dividend cuts. (bought the stock at $42)
Thank you

Q: What are your thoughts on Laurentian bank? It saw a big drop earlier in the year. I recall on a prior answer you indicated you were concerned based on the idea that where there is evidence of some problems, there is often larger problems hidden waiting to be discovered. Do you still have a pessimistic view of Laurentian?
Thanks
Thanks

Q: Hello,
I have been holding Laurentien Bank for a few years thinking it was 'cheap' as it was trading below book value. It's done terribly should I hold/sell any recommendations on an alternative holding for the long term.

Q: These are my biggest losers across my accounts. What are their prospects? Are any worth keeping, or is just time to move on? I don’t mind some risk, but don’t want to hold the hopeless ones any longer.

Q: Hello,
I paid $38 for Laurentian Bank shares. Today they are trading at $26. They are in a non-registered account and I am looking to either hold them for at least 5 years or sell. Based on the current dividend, I am still getting a yield of 4%. Is this still a solid company that you would expect to be around 5 years from now? How likely would it be for them to cut the dividend again? How realistic is it to anticipate that it would return to $38 in the next 5 years? Thank you and have a nice holiday weekend.

Q: Hi 5i
How should a shareholder interpret todays announcement of CEO’s sudden retirement? Good/bad? Is this a sign of “ abandonment “ by management and something shareholders should be cautious of going forward. Currently a shareholder of this stock and looking to make decision of sell/hold.
Thx

Q: My income portfolio consisting of the above equities has taken quite a beating in the recent market downturn. Except for LB, there has been some recovery in prices, and so far dividends have been maintained. I have some excess cash to deploy, and would like your advice on whether to double down on some on my current investments, or your suggestions for other beaten down income investments. Thank you.

Q: I own all of these (similar amounts) and bought LB to boost income. Now its yield is less than the other two do you think it makes sense to switch into the other two? Thanks.
Q: Laurentian Bank just cut it's dividend. Is it possible to know which of the major banks are least likely to cut dividends?
