Q: I was considering buying some LIF for it's recent momentum and dividend, even though it seems to have exceeded analyst price targets. But then I noticed that the CFO and CEO own only a few thousand shares each. Is that info incorrect? Does this indicate their own lack of confidence in their share price? It seems fair to expect them to have a bit of skin on the game.

Q: A couple of recent sources have suggested lower iron ore prices next year. I own LIF in several accounts and I'm wondering about selling about 25% at current prices and buying back next year at lower prices. I am enjoying the last two dividends of about 5% each. Do you see this as a reasonable approach to bring down my average cost as I purchased at much higher prices years ago. Thanks, love your service.

Q: Hi Peter, Is there a co-relation between growth factors and share price. MY screener shows some stocks with great growth ratios Like EPS, SALES AND INCOME growth in double digits but very poor performance ( LIF). Also, some with 2/3 negative growth ratios have stellar performance (BLX).
Am I missing something or the correlation is not straightforward? Which is the more reliable indicator? What is your favorite screening things. Thanks.

Q: I have no metals or minerals in my portfolio. I seem to be getting a late start on this sector but I was deterred by negative EPS in most of these companies. If you could suggest one company to start, what would you suggest. I am a balanced investor and have been looking at LIF because of its dividend and HBM and CS for growth and concentration in copper.
Q: Could you please give me your opinion on LIF - I purchased it at $20.24- it has a 4.9% dividend - is it a sell, hold or buy
Thanks and Happy Holidays

Q: Hello Peter & Team, I hold LIF in my portfolio mainly for the 7.3% dividend it provides. Is the dividend at risk? Is there a negative outlook on the sector right now? Should I keep or sell my LIF shares? Thank you, Gervais
Q: Hello, on my online broker website I see a short ratio (short interest ratio) of 7.58 for LIF, and of 1.00 for CSH.UN. What does this ratio mean? What should be the ideal short ratio for Canadian companies in general? Best regards, Gervais
Q: LIF has moved up close to 50 % YTD, albeit of a low base. Is it time to take profits, or is there more upside left? Thank you.
Q: 1) I understand uranium(yellow cake) is on an upward trend. Is there a website where one can access this information.
I understand U-TSX(labrador iron) is not a true indication of uranium prices.
2) Iron ore, it is my understanding that some of the production for this commodities has been closed down. So is there some way to check to see where the supply/demand ratio is changing to a positive outlook. So the question is, LIF-TSXLabrador Iron) do you feel the div. for this stock is safe.
3) Quarterly reports, what is the easiest way to fine out when a company is going to submit the report, & would they be the same time each year.

Q: I had held LIF for a few years and sold it earlier this fall to take advantage of a tax loss. Am thinking of buying back in once Tax Loss Selling season starts (late Nov). Materials would represent 10% of my Cdn Equity portfolio broken down between SJ, AGU, AFN and LIF in fairly equal percentages.
In the short term I am buying primarily for the dividend income and understand Capital Appreciation may not take place for a few years till Iron Ore prices improve.
Your thoughts on my plans for the materials section of my portfolio and at current Iron Ore prices is LIFs dividend secure?

Q: Sorry for the unclear question earlier. Perhaps you could ignore or not publish it. I understand that LIM is doing the restructuring. How will this impact LIF? Is it worth keeping the royalty?
Q: LIF is down under 15.00 this AM. I understood that the Ex. Div. date was tomorrow. Is there some reason for the stock to be down today by such a large amount? Thank you for your previous reply and comment re this stock earlier this March
