Q: I am considering consolidating at least one of my tech stocks as some seem to be in similar businesses. Which tech stock of the above would you recommend to sell at this time. If something is sold, which one might you recommend to buy more. Or just best to do nothing. I have about 2% - 2.5% of my total equity portfolio in each. Thanks.

Q: I have listed the tech stocks I currently own. As much as I like all of them, I am very over-weight in that sector and need to re-balance my portfolio. I think I should sell 3 of them. Which 3 would you suggest?

Q: I have the listed companies in my TFSA($60k). I haven't been too concerned with portfolio weightings due to the portfolio size and have let the winners run. As a result close to 50% of the portfolio is held in just 2 stocks (CCL.B and CRH) I have nice gains in the others except DBOX and SYLOGIST which are both flat and I have considered switching out. Two questions I have are 1. Do you think it is a prudent strategy to stay this course or would you rebalance keeping in mind these weightings are not that out of whack when you consider my other portfolios? 2. What name(s) would you consider adding to this mix for my 2017 contribution of $5500.

In the technology sector I definitely have enough CSU, and enough ENGH and OTC. I also own GIB.A and SHOP. I have been wanting to buy KXS, but am wondering with 5 technology positions already owned does it make sense to add KXS? Will I be over diversified if I add KXS?

Q: I'm currently holding positions of about $1000 each in my 16 month old daughters RESP for SHOP, GUD, PBH, and TOY.

I'll have enough to purchase a couple new positions shortly. I was thinking about KXS, and SIS, but wanted input as to whether this is a good plan with regards to sector weighting etc.

Q: Since Trump's victory markets have reached new highs including the financials on both sides of the border.Note that 5I has been relatively quiet.Yet many stocks including the aforementioned but not limited to,have fallen quite a lot(some more than others.The primary reason could be rotation to other sectors.If co. specific,please advise.Please advise if it is time to start buying them,& if possible list them according to your preference.Appreciate your usual great advices & services

Q: There are two companies in your model portfolio ( SJ and KXS) that are being taken out behind the wood shed and being thrashed severely. Can you offer any reasons for this? Are there any possible concerns regarding the companies that we should be aware of and should we continue to hold the shares. Stella Jones is of particular concern with its downward spiral and down around 5% this morning.

Q: Hello. I have a 31-year old son who I've been investing on behalf of for the past two years. Since he started earning a regular income, he has loyally saved and invested in his TFSA (up to the maximum allowance) and started to make some contribution to his RRSP as well.

In his TFSA, he has three stocks (TD, AQN, ECI) and other Canadian and US ETFs (VFV, XIU, XEG, ZLB, XQQ, VEF). Now, given the fact that he has some time before retirement, my new plan is to sell ECI, AQN, or possibly BOTH to buy into more growth-oriented stocks. Do you think my new strategy makes sense? Should I sell ECI, AQN or both or none?

In my mind, there are several stocks that fit into a long term growth strategy. These include SIS, PBH, ATD.B, KXS. If you can think of a better one, please let me know. Your advice is very much appreicated. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Chief financial officer Richard Monkman sold 25,000 shares on Nov. 10. CEO John Sicard sold 10,000 shares at a price of just over $67 a share. The chairman Douglas Colbeth sold 37,500 shares on Nov. 8, and trimmed his holdings by 12,500 shares the following day.

Would you have any concerns here?

Q: Is Kinaxis or Shopify more like the company Amazon? It seems to me that Shopify does the same thing as Amazon? If so,would Amazon just not swallow Shopify? Thanks.

Q: I would like to add a growth stock to my TFSA. Looking at your growth portfolio I narrowed it down to one of SHOP, KXS, DBO, PLI, TNC or ZCL. In today's environment which one of these six stocks would you add? I am relatively diversified across all sectors, so sector is not an issue at this time.

I was originally leaning towards either SHOP or KXS. If you didn't select one of these from the six stocks listed above, which one out of these two would you pick?

The funds to purchase the growth stock will come from the sale of IPL or WCP in my TFSA. Of these two which would you sell to get the funds for the growth stock? p.s. I also own IPL and WCP in a non-registered account and plan to keep those.

Q: Dear 5i
A short time ago i got stopped out of this stock but not until i had about a 40% gain (thanks). Do you still see strong earnings growth for this stock over the next year or two ? I`d like to get back into this stock but wanted your opinion first .
