Q: Hi. I contributed some money to my RRSP account and would like to buy 3-5 stocks that have a lot of upside potentials given the latest drawback of the market. Though I have a 10+ years holding period, it would be nice to see short term gain. I don't mind buying US stocks (or Canadian stock) if you can recommend.

Q: Hello 5i Team,

I have done really well with CGI and am thinking of swapping it for KXS. This move is purely for growth, I am comfortable with risk and have a long time frame (3 to 5 years).
Conversely, I am significantly down on both MAXR and HCG, and am thinking of selling one to add to the other. Which one would you recommend keeping and why?
Please deduct credits as you see fit.

Thank you for spreading the wisdom.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

The Info Tech component of equities in all our accounts is 16.2%. The following stocks and ETFs are held, followed by their weightings:

CSU 7.1%
ENGH 1.4%
KXS 2.2%
OTEX 2.3%
SYZ 1.0 %
TXF 1.9%
XIT 0.3% (used to put small amounts of cash since there's no commission with iTrade)

Would it be prudent to trim CSU, and if so, to what level?
What is your opinion of the other holdings, and are their weightings appropriate?
Are the Info Tech holdings too high a percentage of the overall portfolio?

Thanks in advance for your valuable guidance. Please deduct as many credits as you deem necessary.

Q: Thinking of selling a portion of holdings the above to buy XQQ.
Some are in my cash accounts and the in my RRSP.
The tax loss and gain is zero in my cash accounts.
Gain a bit of D/E and get US exposure.

Thank you

Q: With the recent market correction, I have several stocks that are down quite significantly and others that stayed flat or went up a little. This involves that the weightings changed quite a bit for some stocks. I know 5i isn't a big fan of averaging down, but in such context what would be your advice? I have the followings (%loss, weight) :
SIS (-19%, 4%)
PHO(-41%, 1.7%)
KXS(-10%, 3.3%)
NFI(-32%, 2.6%)
PBH(-28%, 3.4%)
TOY(-23%, 2.5%)
MX(-22%, 3.1%)
I currently have 13% cash and would consider reducing it to 7-8%. My sectors are well diversified. Which of the above would be your favorites today for a position increase?

Thank you!

Q: Kinaxis has grown significantly over the past few years. While
the company has solidly managed growth to date, a key risk is the
company’s ability to manage and support its rapid growth and the challenges and
difficulties associated with managing a larger, more complex business. In your view, does KXS current management have the ability to scale KXS and take the company to the next level internationally?

Q: Hi Guys, my above holdings got wacked lately and was wondering if there is anything going on, from the above list should I sell anything besides WEED, are the institutions selling these companies because they think there is more to the downside? These are long term holdings are all up except for COV and KXS which I just bought before the tumble, not one of my best moves.

Thanks

Q: Good Day,
With these companies taking huge hits lately isn’t this the time to be greedy when others are fearful? Do these companies deserve full positions with a long term outlook?
Thx

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan,
Thanks for the great service Peter and Ryan. It is trying times for portfolios

We picked up AMZN (2%), KXS (1%), ZCH (2%) and GOOGL (1%) in the last few days. Also owned is BABA (3%), NVDA (2%). We have 25% in cash available. Is tech recommended to be 15% or 20% of a portfolio as of today with all the recent drops? I am going against the grain here for a bump up in 2019. Of AMZN, BABA, KXS, GOOGL, FB, MFST, BIDU, & PHO, and an outlier BYD.UN which 2-3 stocks are most appealing for a recovery?

Cheers
Jerry and Debbie

Q: If Kinaxis reported some sales slipped outside of Q3, have analysts adjusted these numbers into Q4? I'm probably simplifying things here but in the next quarter if the market has settled and the results affirm this slippage then would the stock price increase? I like this company and can't help to think this price dip is a huge opportunity for those who can wait?
