Q: Down significantly on these 3 in my tfsa, considering consolidating into 1. If possible a remark on what will be required and the odds of them returning to previous highs. For fun a guess as to the winner a year from now?

Q: I currently own GC at a much higher price. Would you add to 1.5% position today or would it be better to add if and when there is some positive momentum? Also, would you start a position in LSPD at current levels?
Q: Thoughts on the stock hitting a 52 week low?
Q: Hello 5i Team,
I'm getting more and more interested in Great Canadian Gaming's prospects for a long term hold. However, I have a 5% holding in TSGI, would you side with my view of adding a 3% position of GC or would I be too heavily invested in the Gaming sector?

Q: Morning guys:
This name is reporting this week and I’m down over 20 percent with a pretty significant weighting . Are you still as optimistic as you have been in the past to hold for the long term ?
Thx
Mark

- Savaria Corporation (SIS)
- BMO Nasdaq 100 Equity Hedged To CAD Index ETF (ZQQ)
- Spin Master Corp. Subordinate Voting Shares (TOY)
Q: I hold the above in my TFSA. I treat my TFSA as part of a total portfolio so although each is about 20% of my TFSA, my overall weight for each is 3% in my total portfolio. Needless to say my TFSA has not performed well this year. Each of these companies (Except for ZQQ) seems to have lost significant value this past year. 5i seems to still like these names but I am starting to think that they are going the same path as some previous darlings of 5i. So my question is: with a 5 year outlook, should I continue to be patient or sell any of these and move on.
By the way, I did ask a question last week and voiced my opinion on some comments....never got a reply??

Q: Sorry, but another follow up on Great Canadian. If the earnings outlook for the next 2 years is essentially flat, what's the incentive to continue holding the stock in the short-term (say 1-2 years)? Is it the hope that continued share buybacks from good cash flow generation will increase earnings per share beyond what's currently in the analyst estimates? Is it the hope that they can improve operations, expand or acquire new businesses and improve earnings per share beyond what is currently estimated? Are there other things that still have you excited about the stock? Is it worthy of a 5% position in a 20-stock portfolio?
Q: Good morning:
Getting hammered on this one, down 26 percent, should I continue to hold for the long haul.
Thx
Mark

Q: I was surprised to hear that their earning estimates have been cut in half as per a previous question. Is that accurate? What is the reason for that? Is it not concerning?

Q: list your 3 best growth stocks with little debt eg KXS. and your 3 best growth stocks with high debt eg TSGI. and your 3 best growth stocks with 50 percent or more revenues derived from USA operations. thanks Richard
Q: In your comments you thought the year over year comparisons would start to look better in 2019 as money laundering switched focus to housing. However analysts estimates have come down from $3.00 a share 90 days ago to $1.50 for 2020.
Do you consider the estimates low or were you considering something else in your earlier response?
Thanks Mike

Q: Hi 5i,
My question is in regards to tax loss harvesting. I am down, in our non-registered accounts, anywhere from 10-30% on Magna, Methanex, NFI, Vermilion, and Great Canadian Gaming.
I like all of these companies and would like to have them in my portfolio as long term holds. My time horizon is years, if not decades. I don't mind the volatility of these stocks at all, nor do I mind being down (on paper) significantly at any point in time with them - I understand these are cyclical names. Dividends, and dividend growth, from most of them ease any short term frustration.
All of that said, would you recommend crystalizing a loss on any of the above? Do you see any catalyst for short term price jumps (earnings?) that may cause me to get caught buying back in at a higher price in 30 days? And if harvesting a loss is the way to go, would I be better off keeping the proceeds in cash to buy back in after waiting? Or park it in comparable securities? If so, any suggestions?
Dollar-wise, the amounts are significant enough that trading costs aren't really material. The only other variable I should mention is that I don't have any capital gains (realized) to use the losses against, so it would just go "in the bank" to be carried forward to the future.
Lots of parts to that question so deduct credits as necessary.
Thanks, enjoy the long weekend!
