Q: Hello,
I own above stocks, and with the current conflict in the middle east, which one(s) would you add to today? assuming oil hovers around current price of ~ $ 80.00.
Also, which ones are rumored for a take over?
As well, which ones have the strongest financials to grow the dividend?

Thanks
Carlo

Q: Good morning 5i team!

May I please get your thoughts on ERF. I've held it for a while and have done well. I'm concidering rotating out of this name and shifting to either WCP, HWX or TVE all of which have better dividends and could run harder if oil catches a bid (as many oil bulls are expecting). Do you prefer any of these name over the others....or, stay the course. Thoughts?

Thanks

Dave

Which three of the above fourteen oil & gas stocks would you sell first to bring my sector allocation back to my normal weight? This is assuming 100 WTI oil in 2023. Could you also provide a brief reason for each of the three stocks that you would get rid of first. Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i,

Following Eric Nuttall's appearance on Market Call on March 4th this year, I invested roughly equal amounts in the above six oil and gas companies on March 7th. (Coincidentally, another 5i member posted questions about the exact same six companies that day.). As of yesterday's close, the results have been a mixed bag, ranging from TOU up 52% to TVE down 25%. Overall, though, up about 6% (not counting dividends).

My investing style is generally to buy and hold quality companies for the long-term, while this oil and gas play was intended to be a bit more of speculative. What is your current opinion of these six companies? Would it be wise to sell any now?

Q: Can I please get your outlook on the energy sector, and the holdings above- how would you rank them for a 1 year hold, would the ranking change for a 5 year hold?
There is the view that energy will come back to represent a larger % of the index again.

Q: Hi,
BIR, WCP, PEY, CVE, GXE, & ERF have significant gains in my portfolio.
SGY, and HWO on the other hand have laggard in this sector.
I would like your guidance if I should sell any of these at this time or hold. If hold for now, what should I watch out for?

Q: Hello Peter and team,
Do you see BCE and Telus as over value territory as it seems investors are moving to safety driving up share prices.. I was thinking of selling some and buy back later time (i know it may seem market timing, but they have run up alot). If I did sell, what are the alternatives? Thanks for the explanation on BAM; the market call commentary was harsh. Lastly, would you consider Enerplus a good buy and is PE a good way to look at oil companies or is it mostly on cash flow? Thanks very much

Q: I'm looking for some Canadian companies that can benefit from the current oil shortage in the world. My research has turned up CJ, ERF, MEG, and NVA. Would you please rank them best to worst in terms of potental upside. As you can see, I'm looking for good growth going forward. If you can think of other possiblilties I would appreciate your choices. Also, do you see any major flaws with the companies I've indicated I would appreciate your opinions.

Q: I hold ERF, NVA, ARX, TVE, GXE, and VET in the "play money" part of my portfolio and I'm certainly benefiting from and enjoying the large increases but I know all good things must end and sometimes quite abruptly.

Are there a couple of key indicators I should be particularly watching for that it's time to get out of all of these quickly before I give up all my easy gains?

Thank you,

John

Q: I have around 15% of my total portfolio value in energy and utilities, spread across the following stocks. I have held most of these positions for quite some time.

Given the considerable rise in the past year (but still quite far off from ATH for some), would you suggest any consolidations or removal of any of these positions?

ENB: 17.72% of total, 44.35% gain
SU: 14.35% of total, 73.34% gain
MEG: 14% of total, 309.59% gain
WCP: 11.55% of total, 249.88% gain
ERF: 8.82% of total, 421.21% gain
CNQ: 8.67% of total, 248.39% gain
CPG: 7.33% of total, 346.70% gain
POW: 6.72% of total, 67.89% gain
PPL: 6.38% of total, 53.52% gain
AQN: 4.47% of total, 4.83% gain

Thanks in advance for the insight and advice!

Q: my question is on oil.
i tend to follow eric nuttall who has been 100% on the money with oil and oil stocks.
however a lot of analysts feel with the coming of iranian oil, the increase in rig counts etc oil might drop back to 70. the 2nd half of the year.
what is your opinion and is nuttall right that these high oil prices can continue for 2 to 3 more years.
