Q: Seasons Greetings: Please deduct the number of questions that you feel is fair. I have been smoked by NBZ and ready to walk away. My advisor is suggesting putting the remaining $$ I have left from the sale into BTE, BNP or TCW as to remain with the energy theme.

Your thoughts and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
I was another investor who had too much weighting in oil- aside from a few that went out of business , I have held the rest until now and still have more $ in oil than I now want as a percentage weighting - not wanting to miss any rally entirely but also not believer in $75 oil coming I am going to shave some monthly until I get to my new weighting / if you were going to sell some of one of the four stocks listed which would you pick and why
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Dear 5i

In 2016, BNP expects a payout ratio of only 85-90% of FFO, only $25M of its debt is due and its Debt/EBIDTA is expected to be 3.3X with much of its production hedged. How safe do you think BNP if these low natural gas/oil prices persist? Will they be okay every if oil goes down to US$25 per barrel or gas prices fall. Do you think they could refinance their long term bank facilities at favorable terms in 2019 at these low current prices?

thanks very much.

Q: With the continued discussion in the financial media about a recession or not a recession in Canada and a Bank of Canada governor who at any opportunity talks down the CAD and does whatever to lower it, this has certainly heightened the negative sentiment on everything Canadian. Is the time yet here that the risk/return ratio for investing in energy and or pipeline stocks now favourable and would a company like BNP with a healthy dividend and good management be a decent investment?

Q: With the dividend cut and lower capex announced this evening do you like BNP any better as a hold for yield and growth for the next 12-18 months? I could take a tax loss on it and buy another name in the sector like BTE, SGY, WCP or CPG for potentially better yield & upside? The risk of course is that neither SGY, WCP or CPG have cut yet. Perhaps that's already fully priced in?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Q: Good day 5i
I am planning to adjust my energy E&P holdings which include TOU CVE ECA BNP. I believe this sector is undervalued and would like to strengthen my holdings. BNP is in a loss px but I can use that to offset some CG rqd to adjust weights of some long time winners.

I plan to sell BNP due to its poor performance. M-star anylysts are critical of its mgt of resource assets.

Could you rank my holdings along with a few others, that I know you like, to enable me to take advantage of sector undervaluation to restructure.

As always, your advice is appreciated

Q: Hi Peter and 5i team,
BNP has dropped over 40% from its high this May and 70% since 2011. I have small position (less than 1%) and wondering whether to sell, hold, or increase considering the current valuation and attractive dividend. What is your opinion of this company and its perspectives? How safe is the dividend? My timeframe is 2-3 years.
Thanks.

Q: I would appreciate your assessment of Bonavista (BNP) prospects. I've held it for several years and am underwater about 15%. They recently did an unusual thing and cancelled their DRIP for the stated reason that their cash flow had improved and the DRIP was no longer necessary. would I be wiser to take a tax loss and switch into Surge? Thanks
