Q: I am dn 24% BIR (RIF), up 8% KEL (RIF), dn 18% VII (taxable acct), up 30% SPB (taxable acct). Should I consider buying FRU and if so which of the above should I sell to purchase? Or just hang in and do nothing. Thank you.

Q: In the event that the price of oil falls dramatically this year, how would you rank the following six companies with respect to their ability to withstand a prolonged and precipitous decline: VII, ARX, BIR, TOG, VET, CPG ? Would any of them be cause for concern, or would you keep holding? Also, what are the main factors you take into consideration when making this kind of determination (balance sheet, market cap, oil vs gas exposure, etc)? Thanks for your reply.

Q: I know you sold your crystal ball but I would like your opinion
on the possibility of the Bir.pr.a being called this sept. I own quite a few at a much lower price and since it is selling over the 25.00 I may decide to sell if it is to be called.
FYI terms of reset are 5yr boc plus 6.83%

They seem to have attractive upside with little debt.

Q: I need to increase my energy holdings and my fixed income. I consider preferrds for fixed income as long as the company is stable. You said you like Birchcliff but what do you think of the preferreds? Seems like a good deal at almost 8% dividend.
