Q: I have enjoyed quite a runup in my holding of CRH and am thinking of taking some of my profits (slightly overweight now) and adding to my position in BAD where I am slightly below my average price. Why has BAD dropped so significantly recently and would you consider this a good entry point or sit tight with CRH.
Q: I bought this stock as a contrarian play. Badger was heavily shorted. I am now up 40%. Stock is not cheap now. Should I keep holding or move on to something else.
Q: Greetings 5i
Considering the protectionist rhetoric from the Whitehouse, are energy service companies safe. Should we focus on companies working in the USA or elsewhere?
Q: I am trying to high grade my portfolio and looking 2-3 yrs out for total return, would you swap the stocks in the following 3 scenarios or would you stay put. 1. TFI for CNR, 2. MX for SJ, 3. Bad or RUS for SIS. A small explanation as to why would be appreciated. Thanks and keep up the fantastic work.
Q: Considering returning to oil to take a full position. I have full position on utilities, finance,IT,Consumer, Is going to oil a good idea? Which of the above would you or combination would you suggest for an initial input of $50-70K.
Your service is much appreciated,
Q: Hi All at 5i!!! I have a small portfolio with the following holdings: BAD, CSU, BMO , FTS, GWO, HR.UN, WSP. I have made money on BAD and would like to swap it out for. CSU. Could I have your thoughts on this? Would you trade another stock in the portfolio instead? I am up on all of them. Cheers and thanks, Tamara
Q: Regarding the short position on Badger:
- My google search shows 9.3 million short on the OTC market in the US as of Oct 31. Is there more recent data?
- Do you know the short data for Canada? What is a good website to check that?
- How will the shorters in the US ever cover with little to no liquidity in the OTC market (can they cover via the Canadian market)?
- Do you believe the recent strength is short covering?
Q: I read that Badger Daylighting was upgraded lately by BMO, with a new target at 33. But I cannot find that report. Can you confirm? Also, if you can find it, can you tell me why they like it again? Anything specific about their business is expected to do better? I assume the increase in U.S infrastructure spending is likely to get them more contracts, since they do have trucks in the U.S? I own 1/2 a position. Thank you.
Q: The U.S small caps index had a 10 day string of gains, which hasn't happened for 5 years. It looks like animal spirits are finally back, and I'd like to buy before the "take-off". It seems it's easy to miss the boat these days, which happened to me with with U.S banks! Do you think this IWM move will carry over to the TSX small caps? I'm considering buying 1/3 positions in BAD, DHX, and ACQ. Thank you.
Q: Good Morning Peter and 5i group,
It has been said that BAD did not book the proper amount of depreciation in the last statement, do you think this will lead to a meaningfull drop in share price.
Ken
Q: Badger at $29 is expected to report Nov.15 with revenue projected at $109 MM vs
$111 for Q3 last year and EPS of 0.36 vs 0.49. Do you agree with these numbers and have you changed the opinion in your report last June that it was trading at a premium valuation when it was $7 less? This stock appears to have very good momentum and I'm very glad to have held it for the last 4+ years. Thanks, J.
Q: I would like to thank you for insisting on having a portfolio approach and always trim/add to maintaining the balance weighting was able to absorb the AVO shock. I have BAD which went up 25% and AVO went down 25% with no net loss. Had I maintained my high weighting on AVO I would have been a sad story. On the question I would like to know if I can sell gain on BAD and buy AVO that will balance it. I am having a long term view and would like you opinion.
Q: Hello, I just sold Badger given its dramatic rise today. I like to sell high and by low. I have been watching Airboss and it appears to be well priced. Would you recommend buying Airboss to replace Badger.
