Q: Hi - leaving out the "it's still up 30% ytd" aspect, ATS has started a defined trend downward. What do you attribute it to...are they higher beta with respect to the economy and possible retrenchment on capital spending budgets for companies? In other words, apart from profit taking, do you think the market is projecting a hit to their order book? Thanks as always!!

Q: Hi Team,
The market has done a good job at punishing growth investors as of late (again). If one is looking for opportunity to add today which of the following is the best buy today (long term horizon). ATS, LMN, SHOP, BN? Perhaps rank the order you would purchase them. Thanks

Shane.

Q: Retired investor looking to reduce bank holdings. Currently have ~1/2 positions in TD and BAC and full positions in NA and RY. I would appreciate your input. Could you rank, giving rationale, ATS, CLS, ABT, HST, LEN, for upside potential? Would you recommend starting 1/2 positions (or easing into) any of them at this time? Please take credits as you see fit. Thanks.

Q: Hi, Do you have any idea why ATS has lost 15% of its value, within less than a month ($55 from the high of $64) ? Despite company posting solid results, stock has failed to gain any traction. This company, we know, is one of your favourites in the group. Is there any change in your thesis ? If not, should it be a great buying opportunity to add ? Thank You

Q: Hi Team
According to portfolio analytics I need to increase my industrial weighting by 7%. At present I have AMAT, CNR and LRCX. CNR is the largest weighting here.
At present my portfolio is 7% Industrials and I should be at 14%.
I also own ZSP and XIU but I am not sure if analytics accounts for the specific sector weights there when it figures out your weighting or if it only counts as a broad spectrum diversification.
Which stocks would you recommend adding. This is a non registered account.
Thanks for your help.

Q: I am looking for companies that can "see over a recession", and has pricing power to counter-act inflation. An example: a company that helps another company (which is directly impacted by the recession). ATS comes to (my) mind.
What companies come to your mind?
Related: Continuing my own research, I read the Key Ratios for ATS on the 5i site.
PE 45, a bit high for my liking
But concensus EPS for next 4 Qs totals $6.56
At today's stock price, that's a PE of 11.5; that sounds terrific
ROE and Revenue Growth stats look good.
I'd like your commentary on this...."analysis"; moreover, what do you see in the Key Ratios that a retail investor should take note of (ATS, and/or generally).
Many thanks.

Q: Hello 5i team,

I sold "CAE" and made some money to find next growth name. Could you please suggest one? I already have "STN" and "CP" in my portfolio for your information. Your suggestion doesn’t have to be in the same sector though, I am looking for the best rewarding one as of today for 3-5 years holding. Thanks.

Q: Good morning,

A follow-up question to Angus’ question from yesterday about the P/E and PEG of these three companies…

As I understand the PEG ratio, a PEG under 1 suggests the stock is undervalued for its expected level of growth and over 1 suggests overvalued. So would you interpret these three PEG ratios that WSP is currently overvalued? If you were adding to these three, all other things being equal, would you be least likely to add to WSP, adding to the other two first as they have a a better current value?

Thank you for your insights in these early learning days of my investing journey…

Doris

Q: hello 5i:
in a recent reply to a question on ATS, you said earnings for March 2023 were $1.62. But, here's a copy and paste from the corporate website:
Adjusted basic earnings per share1 increased 3.0% year over year to $2.37.
Can you clear up the discrepancy please?
And, with estimates of '24 being 2.68 to 2.69, this would give a much slower growth rate than you're projecting (13.5% yoy)
thanks
