Q: Reading recently one of members question about rating growth and risk of DOO, HPS and MG, how about adding ATS to the list as well which hasn’t behaved well lately. Could you please rate them all together ?

Q: I have cash in my TFSA and am thinking the above stocks will experience tax loss selling pressure and I can add to my existing positions at attractive prices for long term holds.
Do you agree that these stocks will be subject to tax loss pressure and is now a good time to buy, wait a bit, or average in each week for the next month or so.

Q: hello 5i:
have a small position in ATS and have read the comment on their quarterly results. I am much more interested in what management had to say about going forward. Was there anything in the conference call (did they have one?) that we, as investors, should be hearing? I do want to increase to a full position but need a little more clarity on their vision and outlook.

Q: Hello 5i,
Just had a look at ATS balance sheet which your report on Sept 5th suggested had improved. Can you help me understand how the more than doubling of "goodwill and other intangibles" which in march of 2020 were $800+million, compared to march 2023 were $1.7 billion will impact the company going forward? How did "intangible" assets grow so much and does this typically inflate assets on the Balance Sheet? Total debt in that time frame has also doubled. With reporting due next week(?) is there anything else you can shed light on for we shareholders?
Does ATS usually meet or miss on numbers?

Q: Hello, Raymond James dropped the price target of ATS to $61 from $67 ( Still a BUY ), in a preview of the quarter, yesterday. Not sure if other analysts on the street will trim estimates/target, leading to Nov 8 release of results. Is this a hint of what could be in the store ? Stock has been weak over past several weeks, perhaps, in anticipation of a soft quarter. What's your take ? Thank You

Q: What are your thoughts on GDI? I've been holding in my TFSA for around 3 years and up 12%. They made a purchase last week which looks good. Its more or less been flat and slightly down for the last little while. I know you like it and still hold but I'm looking to high grade this stock for a better alternative if there is one.  Looking at total return 5+ yrs, what small/mid cap stocks would you rank above this one currently that I could swap with? Some names that come to mind are TVK (not held) and HPS.A (holding already).  So I would sell GDI and buy one of the others, which do you like currently that have greater growth potential? If any others in Cad or US, please offer your suggestions.

Also quick thoughts on NVEI (held in TFSA), time to cut it loose? Thanks!

Q: ATS is something that 5i likes. On April 6 of this year it was 52.40 and now today Oct. 17, it is $52.50. You know a lot about this company. I own it because I am a long time member of 5i - do you see things in their profile that I would not have access to? You like QSR and it was a recent pick on BNN. I own it at higher prices. Q: Hi, ATS price action for past few weeks has been disappointing, to say the least. There was a similar comment from another member recently - ATS stock price has started a definitive downtrend, asking for a possible explanation. 5i response was along the line - "ATS share price has been under pressure recently along with the broad market ". The issue is that ATS follows the broad market ( growth stocks ) during declines but fails to participate during market rallies. Even on Tuesday when Bond yields moved significantly lower, prompting a nice bounce in most growth sectors, including Technology and Industrials, ATS showed only a muted response. Any further insights or possible explanation ?

I am aware that ATS is one of the largest holdings in your Growth Portfolio and it's one of your favorites. Thank you for your invaluable service !!
