Q: Hi 5i
Three questions if that's OK, points to be deducted accordingly:

1. What's the best site to find dates on which quarterly reports will be released along with estimates for the upcoming quarter?

2. Could you identify 2 or 3 small to mid cap O&G producers that you would recommend now (not including TVE or WCP) along with a thumbnail sketch as to why for each?

3. What are your thoughts about FRU for income and cap gain over the 12 months or so?

Thanks!

Peter

Q: Hello Peter and team,
Any idea why Arc Resources and Whitecap are not participating to the same degree as other oil stocks like Tamarack Valley? On BNN, it was mentioned that if Arc is not re-rated, it could be a take out candidate. If so, what price would you think makes sense as takeover candidate? Much appreciated.

Q: I'm looking to review and possibly consolidate my oil exposure.
Currently I've got WCP, CVE, FRU, and PHX.

How would you rate these for a long term hold for income and growth? Are there any others that would be better?

Q: I have very little energy exposure in my registered account.
Is now a good time to add a long-term dividend payer and if so, please suggest 2 for me to consider.
Preferably one that isn't already over-valued and therefore may drop in price should oil return to $50 or $60/ barrel.
Thanks.

Q: I have around 15% of my total portfolio value in energy and utilities, spread across the following stocks. I have held most of these positions for quite some time.

Given the considerable rise in the past year (but still quite far off from ATH for some), would you suggest any consolidations or removal of any of these positions?

ENB: 17.72% of total, 44.35% gain
SU: 14.35% of total, 73.34% gain
MEG: 14% of total, 309.59% gain
WCP: 11.55% of total, 249.88% gain
ERF: 8.82% of total, 421.21% gain
CNQ: 8.67% of total, 248.39% gain
CPG: 7.33% of total, 346.70% gain
POW: 6.72% of total, 67.89% gain
PPL: 6.38% of total, 53.52% gain
AQN: 4.47% of total, 4.83% gain

Thanks in advance for the insight and advice!

Q: As I write this Feb 23/22 Russia has begun to bomb Kyiv in Ukraine. All market commentators are saying that oil will go up with this invasion as a catalyst. Do you agree? please name a ticker or two or three. I have noticed Devon DVN and GUSH the three times leverage.
I am down about 20% in my Tesla shares in a margin account. I will probably be margin called in the next few days.
I could trim my position taking a 20-25%.
Should I put something into Oil as this Russian conflict persists?

Q: I am planning to wind down my energy stocks over the next few months because they are now approaching 2014 highs and, historically, these highs are temporary. Which would you back out of soonest and why? Or would you disagree completely? Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi Team,
I am an aggressive investor, which paid off lovely in 2020, but now am being crushed. I hold the following stocks (with weightings in brackets) in total in my brokerage accounts. Could you have a quick look and tell me how this basket looks "In general"? And if you see this basket doing well over the longer term (say 5-10yr hold), pointing out any suggested changes you would make, if any are "sells" or worth switching out. Note that if I sell any GSY it would incur tax (the weighting is large because the position has grown and have been a firm believer in the company as its valuation still looks cheap and am collecting a nice div off it as well). I am 42yrs old so retirement is a ways away and my goal is maximum returns with reasonable risk until retirement. Please deduct credits as required. Thanks
ATZ(3.2%)DOO(1.3%),GSY(24.7%),NVEI(6.3%),TOI(8.6%),WCP(2.8%),SQ(3.5%),APPS(2.5%),RBLX(2.7%),BAM.A(1.7%),LSPD(3%),FB(8.2%),TTD(2.9%),U(2.2%),ABNB(2.4%),CRWD(2.4%),NVDA(6%),PINS(1.7%),CRM(2.9%),NOW(2.7%),SWKS(1.7%),TWLO(2.4%),VEEV(1.4%)WELL(2.5%).

Q: A few weeks ago I asked about the virtues of owning XLE vs XEG. I ended up buying 5 postions in the following: TOU, KEL, WCP, ARX, TVE. Energy is now 3.5% of my overall portfolio.

My question is the following: for US exposure: may you please provide me your highest conviction name. If you had to chose between this US energy name an DIS for a total return in the next twelve months, which of the two would you side with?

Also, for the next twelve months, what portfolio allocation to energy would you deem optimal, given the current macro environnement?

Thank you and please deduct credits as you see fit.

Q: It's time that I trim my above portfolio of 13 oil & gas stocks to sector weighting. Which 6 stocks do you think should be first to be trimmed? Please list the stocks in order from the first to be sold to the sixth. This is for medium risk profile. Also could you list a short reason why you think it should go for each of the six stocks.

Thanks

Q: Hello Peter, Can I have your opinion please?

I am wondering if it might be a good idea to reduce my holdings in gold and silver stocks (maybe exit all my positions?), at least until May and buy some in the energy sector from the proceeds.
The reason behind this stems from yields going up- maybe the 10 yr goes to 2%. How likely is that? Apparently, the seasonal period of gold starts in summer.

My stocks in gold are at both ends of the large/small caps such as AEM/KL,FNV, KRR,MMX,WDO and PAAS.
I am under represented in energy with ENB,PPL and ALA.
What would be your suggestion? And if you agree, could you give me 1or 2 names to let go and 1 or 2 names to add.
Always appreciative of your thoughts.
Regards
Rajiv
