Q: Now that there has been shareholder and court approval of the "strategic combination" of these two companies when will I see my TOG shares become WCP shares? I can't find an actual date for this to take place. It was finalized yesterday so I thought perhaps it would have happened today. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Q: Hi team,
What are your thoughts about the merger between WCP and Torc, should the merger go well? WCP's stock has been weak lately, but with oil prices improving ,should that add to the their bottom line and therefore drive their stock price higher? Thinking long term should one add to their position now?
Many thanks,
Jean

Q: I have read were some investors will sell half their holdings of a stock if it doubles. The theory I suppose is to take your own money off the table and let the excess run. I have two stocks now that have recently doubled - ZBC & WCP. I invested a full position in both of these stocks which for me is $10,000. Now both have a market value of over $20,000, but I believe both these stocks have a ways to run yet. Do you feel I should sell half of my position or let things go as they are for awhile? Do you believe in the theory about selling half a positions if a stock doubles? Is there merit in doing it? Thanks for your thouights.

Q: I am considering selling OVV at a considerable loss and replacing it with Whitecap for the 30 day tax loss. At that time I will compare the progress of the 2 stocks to decide whether to stay with WCP or move back to OVV. I’m inclined to think I should stay with WCP as they have a good dividend and I already have some shares. I would not be overweight in WCP. Is there a different oil stock you would suggest instead of WCP?
Thanks for your always great advise.
John

What do you think of my strategy and what are your thoughts on the 2 companies.

Q: Hi 5i Folks,
Whitecap Resources was removed from the TSX Composite some time ago due to low market capitalization. Recently the company purchased two other small cap energy companies. This should increase capitalization with the additional shares (and share price). My question is: When does the TSX consider adding WCP once again and what is the criteria it uses to decide? Do you think the inclusion to the index will bump up the share price?

Q: I own both and at the share exchange price for TOG will have a loss. In order to realize that loss for tax purposes I assume I will need to sell it. Correct?
If I do sell but want to maintain a larger position in the new company, am I able to purchase more WCP right away without offending the superficial loss rules?
