Q: Hello All, could you please off your views on Veresen, given their plan to build an LPG plant in Oregon, and what that entails. Thankyou.

Q: Will the BG & Shell merger effect Veresen with the Jordan Cove project.Court action.I understand their LNG project would be delivering before Kitimat or others in BC.I am down approx. 8% and dividend is OK.What is your view 5I staff.
Q: VSN is approaching its 52 week low. Is it a buy at this price? The purchase is for a non-registered account. I have owned VSN in a registered account for greater than 10 years. I am readjusting holdings in various accounts to better manage tax liabilities going forward and want to shift the account which will hold my VSN shares.
Excellent service.
Thanks

Q: What do you think the impact of EFG's claim could be? See also VSN's opinion below. Thanks, David.
The Ontario Superior Court ruled that Energy Fundamentals Group Inc. (EFG) "has a valid option to acquire up to 20% of Veresen's equity interest in the Jordan Cove liquefied natural gas terminal and related assets."
Veresen's said Feb 26: "Veresen continues to believe that the existence of the option and whether or not it is exercised will have no material impact on the Company."

Q: I own vsn, vsn.pr.a and vsn.pr.c.
Today Scott Barlow in the Globe and Mail has singled out Veresen one of the companies that could be vulnerable because of their high debt level. Do you share his views? Are the dividends safe for both VSN and the preferreds? Do you recommend holding these shares?

Q: What are your views of VSN, ARX and SGY? I'm looking at purchasing these for my dividend portfolio. Thanks.
Q: When you discuss pipelines you never seem to mention Veresen as a top pick or a pipeline It owns 50 % of the Alliance Pipeline and has just done a major deal and aligned themselves with Kinder Morgan What classification do you give VSN if not a pipeline
They are just waiting for final approval from the DOE.It has almost 6% yield . I am thinking of taking it up to a 5 % weighting in my portfolio Could you give me your opinion on the potential earnings growth and dividend safety Thanks so much Paul

Q: Veresen (VSN)
Hi Team - I was hoping you could please explain the apparently high payout ratio of Veresen. According to CIBC Investors Edge, the payout ratio is 439.63%. From what I can see with FASTGraphs, the payout ration has been over 100% (sometimes well over) since 2001.
I don't understand how this can be possible over such a long time period. I've noticed this with other companies as well from time to time. Generally though, the commentary you provide suggests a low payout ratio is best.
Could you please help educate me?
Thanks very much. Michael

Q: When companies like Veresen sell subscription receipts at prices below the stock price does it impact the stock prices going forward ?
Q: I have been looking at Veresen VSN for a while now. Will the recent Supreme Court ruling on aboriginal title affect the LNG projects planned for BC. If so, will the VSN project in Oregon benefit?
Your comments please.

Q: Hi Peter;
I am interested in VSN and MFC. Both could double in 2-3 years. Right? VSN pays much higher dividend than MFC. VSN also has a diversified business. Your thoughts please. Thank you.

Q: Hello 5i,
I would like to drill down into VSN a bit further. I'm trying to figure out why this fairly sleepy dividend stock has been on fire since last September, up around 50%. ROE is only 5%. Forward PE is sky high. Are investors simply enamoured of their forthcoming new projects and the steady high div? Is the valuation not extremely rich?
Thank you!
