Q: I’m looking for safer areas to park money in each of our tsfa’s ,rrsp’s and non registered accounts. Can you suggest a few of your favourites for each. We are semi retired and won’t need the funds for at least 10-20 yrs but would like a little more protection in a downturn.Currently 80 equities ,20% cash (CBIL and BIL )and no bonds. If there are safe bond ETFs that you prefer in certain accounts please recommend them as well. Take as many credits as needed. Thanks!

Q: Dear 5i
If it's not too much to ask could you give me the most accurate yield that you possibly can on the above stated ETF's . It's very frustrating obtaining this information acurrately as different web sites give different numbers . If you were to rely on just one non prescription website what would that website be to obtain reasonably accurate yield information ? I'm sure you get tired of being asked this question on a fairly regular basis .
If you have other suggestion on similar like ETF's i would be all ears .
I also assume that all these ETF's are quite safe and that no more than 100K should be put into any one of them .
Thanks greatly
Bill C

Q: Hello I am 72 and fully invested in CDN and US equities. I am concerned about a bear market or a correction, and would like to reduce my equity risk.
Say for $250K , how would you invest between CASH, T-Bills, GIC, Bond ETF?
What are you suggestions?
Thanks

Q: Currently my entire allocation of money market funds is in PSA which currently pays just over 4%. However , rates are dropping in Canada. I am considering moving all my money market allocation to ZUCM which appears to be an American dollar money market paying over 5 % . I believe rates are less likely to decline in the US.
Do you like this strategy ?
Do you prefer a different American dollar money market account ?

Q: How safe is CBIL? Can it be used instead of a HISA? It has a great yield.
Q: I have some money parked in CBIL and UBIL. Can you suggest any other comparable short-term T-bill ETFs?

Q: I like what Global X has to offer in their line of ETF's. However, I think I read one of your Q&A responses a couple months ago that their can be a concern with overloading the overall percentage of ones portfolio with a given ETF company. Did I understand that correctly? If so, just wondering what the potential consequences are in doing that, and if you do recommend spreading investments over a number of ETF companies.
Percentages are personal, but perhaps 5i has a ballpark-ish range that they would be comfortable with for a given ETF company (?)

Q: I am concerned about the possibility of a bear market and would like to reduce my equity risk. I am looking for a safe investment which is highly liquid. I am in the process of considering cashable GICs. Are there any ETFs which you would recommend for money market funds? Can you please recommend an ETF for the Canadian market and one ETF for the US market.
Also, for a 1-2 year hold, what type of bond ETF would you recommend (long bond, mid-term, etc) for a fairly safe investment? Again, can you please recommend one Canadian and one US ETF.
Thank you again for this excellent service.

Q: I am concerned about the height of the stock markets and am in the process of reducing my equity holdings. If there is a correction or bear market next year, then I would want to be able to invest again at some point.
With the cash that becomes available from the sale of equities, what would you recommend as an investment? I am looking for something that is extremely safe, can be sold at any time (which eliminates a GIC for consideration) and gives me a bit of yield/gain. Are there any ETFs which fit this bill?
Thank you for this wonderful service.

Q: Dear 5i team.
CBIL appears to have very limited history as inception appears to be April/23.
Can you please provide your best guess on how this may perform in times of interest rate volitility?
Appreciate your help as always.

Purpose Cash Management Fund (MNY $100.16)
-
Global X 0-3 Month T-Bill ETF (CBIL $50.06)
Q: Hello, I am looking at these 3 ETFs to park my cash, now that short term interest rates have come down and ETFs like PSA or HSAV have much less attractive rates than 6 months ago. Can you highlight the main differences between MNY, CBIL and CMR and sort these by increasing risk level? FYI, CMR will add asset-backed paper to its portfolio sometime next year. Thanks!
Q: CBIL holds Canadian treasury bills and TDB2913 is a money market mutual fund. It looks to me CBIL is safer with basically the same yield am I missing anything? Thanks

Q: Lots of good Q&A lately on parking short term cash.
I have $100K to invest. Are one of these more suitable than the others for quickly withdrawing an amount as required when I want to purchase stocks or equity ETF's?
Would you feel comfortable putting the whole amount in any one of these, or is it best to diversify a bit?
Do you have a recommended USD version(s) for my USD account ?

Q: I’m recently retired and looking to set up a 2-year cash wedge inside my RRSP account. I already have about 20% invested in CBIL. I’m trying to decide if I should keep adding to CBIL or invest in something like ZMMK. I’m leaning towards ZMMK because of the slightly better current return, bigger size and maybe it will retain a slightly higher return in the future assuming interest rates continue to go down? Does this make sense? Is there a better instrument(s) to use to set up a cash wedge? Am I simply overthinking this 😊!
