Q: I have built up a position in TIXT and plan to hold it for a very very long time. I now also have some shares of LMN spun out from CSU. The LMN shares are approximately 1% of my CSU position and an even tinier fraction of the overall portfolio. Wondering if I should just roll the shares of LMN into my TIXT position and would be more inclined to do so if there is considerable overlap in their businesses. Your thoughts please?

Thanks.

Q: Hi, Your thesis about trading of Lumine shares, during initial days makes sense and seems to be proving itself right. Brilliant !!! Based on no of shares already traded and more selling expected in coming days from the Index funds ( appx holding of LMN shares across Index board ), when and at what level, you expect the shares to settle, before it would be safe to start accumulating ? Thank You

Q: Hi, I want to build a position in the new lumine for long term growth but for that I will have to sell other positions to raise capital, what would you sell between lightspeed, spin masters, saputo or haivision ? Thanks

Q: Since CSU pays its dividend in USD, to avoid currency exchange fees I hold CSU on the US side as CNSWF. When it spun off Lumine, the new shares showed up in my US account as LMGIF with a BV of $.02
- the spin out is listed as a "dividend in kind", does that mean there is no tax due until I sell the lumine shares at which time all proceeds (since BV of $.02) are taxed as capital gains?
- I can not see LMGIF on any of my trading platforms. What is the difference between LMGIF and LMN?
- given that Lumine does not pay a US dividend is there any reason for me to continue to hold it on the US side?

Thanks
Scott

Q: 1. When CSU spun out TOI, it was considered a “mini European CSU”. What would consider the recent spinout of LMN i.e., a “mini xxxxx CSU”? If applicable.

2. I am thinking of unloading LSPD from my RRSP at a significant loss. Where would you suggest the funds go? I am thinking either SHOP or LMN or is that just setting up a double whammy? if yes, alternatives please.

Thanks as usual.

Q: (I have submitted this question under CSU since Lumine does not yet seem to have been entered in your automated stock list.)

Lumine (LMN) started to trade yesterday (Mar.24), at $16.75. I have no idea whether this is a fair value, but have noted in the past that the initial market price of spin-off shares often falls
precipitously in the first few days of trading. I
I would like to add to the shares I already possess from the CSU spin-off. In your opinion, is $16 overvalued?
Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

Recently a member (Reg) asked:

Q: I am a holder of CSU inside my TFSA - as such I have received shares of Lumine - realizing you are not tax experts are these Lumine shares allowed to be held inside my TFSA.
My advisor thinks they might not be - TBD. If they are not allowed they need to be removed - would that count as a withdrawal in the eyes of the CRA?
Thanks

Perhaps Reg was asking about the "new" shares of LMN that he received, given that he had already made his maximum contribution to this year's TFSA.

What action should be taken in such a case, to keep the CRA happy?

Thanks as always for your insight.
