Q: With gains over the past year, I'm overweight in these holdings - BAM 7%, BEP 12%, BIP 8%. I'm not uncomfortable with BAM and BIP but BEP is high.
Do you think there is more short-term upside in either BEP or BIP due to the addition of corporate structures?
What overall weighting would you recommend for these 3 companies and do you have a preference for any - these would be long-term holdings (8-10 years) in an income focused portfolio?
If trimming is recommended, what are your top 3 recommendations for reliable and growing dividend paying stocks, sector not being an issue?
Thank you
Ian
Q: Wondering why the stock is down so much today on the CEO news. While terrible news - this was an issue while employed elsewhere - so can you shed some light on why it would cause such a decline on TMX Group? I would think it would only mean a change in leadership. Seems like an overreaction (from a stock price perspective only).
Q: What do you think of TMX's earnings and the subsequent market reaction? I am thinking, for long term shareholders, today's slide seems a little overdone?
Q: Hello Peter and Staff
Please in some detail help me decide if ECN already owned should be replaced with TMX for total returns over a long term hold
Thanks for all you do
Dennis
Q: Looking to purchase full positions in large caps with steady growth, at least a 2% dividend, and low debt in both the consumer defensive and cyclical sectors. Canadian and US names both appreciated. Thank you.
Commissions on trades are gradually disappearing in the U.S. Do you think Canadian firms will do likewise and what impact will it have on the stock of TMX Group ? And your views on TMX now ?
Q: The rise of X and ICE in the past year has been notable. I was in and took profit in X but perhaps I should return. Which company do you prefer?
Greg
Thinking about adding this company to my portfolio. Can I get your views and specifically the drivers that could continue to push this one higher. Would you purchase at this point?
Q: Any news regarding the TMX group today to account for its +2.63% move. The China tariffs news today had zero impact on its shares. Normally, market volatility hurts TMX Group's share price but today it was essentially a slow and steady climb to finish the day 2 cents off its all time high.
Q: Good morning, I have always wanted to purchase one of the exchanges. If you had to choose one or two, which one would you favour ?
And would you make a few comments on owning them in a portfolio?
thanks, Rick
Q: Like other members I am searching around for a good watchlist system. I have looked at TMX money but am somewhat confused about their platform. I can't see if there are any fees associated with their service. How do they make their money? I have not registered with them yet.
Q: I am considering switching from PWF to X .
I think the total return picture for the next five looks much better for TMX group. Your opinion please taking into consideration the capital preservation factor.
