Q: hi peter, do you still like it and would keep holding. this is getting frustrating and tempting to sell at loss (may be bottoming ) as oil is rising but stock is dropping. why is it not participating. otherwise, may be should be looking for a better candidate. thanks for sage advice, as always.

Q: First, I have been a member for a number of years and I could not be happier or more impressed (or wealthier) from the service and advice you provide. You have a great business idea and the fact that one can make money and learn at the same time is quite unbelievable. Continue the good work and all the best to 5i staff for the new year.
Accolades aside, I do have a question. I tend to think of my holdings in energy as being my investments in the oil industry. I know that natural gas plays a role too, though, but the price and growth of that industry don't seem to get the play that oil prices do. Should I worry if I have enough gas exposure or is following the oil industry good enough for balancing my portfolio?
Again, thanks so much for your insight and all you do.

Q: I need to take a loss what would you swap to to stay in the oil sector.
Q: Oil prices are up around 10% ytd; RRX is down around 30%. I bought RRX with the premise that the oil market at some point would start to rebalance. The oil piece seems to be working itself out; can you explain the huge divergence with RRX.
Also, I could use the capital loss on RRX this year. Can you provide a good company to swap into. Thanks.

Q: Hello Peter,
I have a 2.5% portfolio weight in energy stocks, constituting of HWO (down -33%) PONY (-76%) RRX (-31%) TOU (-53%) and WCP (-41%).
Should I sell all and crystallize the loss for tax purposes or are there any that you would suggest holding on? What percentage of the portfolio would you allocate to energy at this time and perhaps suggest 3-5 names in order of preference that I could invest either now or 30 days later when I can buy my tax loss divestment.
As always your opinion is greatly appreciated.
Regards

Q: with the latest opec agrement would this be time to buy these stocks.
thanks donald.
thanks donald.
Q: I recently read that the energy companies that will benefit most from rising oil prices are conventional producers with low debt. Given this, I am thinking of replacing a position in SGY with WCP. Does this make sense to you? I also have a position in RRX that I would keep.
Q: CANADIAN LIGHT OIL PRODUCERS :-What are the better ones to pick --If on Oct 30th there is an agreement between OPEC & Russia ---re continued restrictions on oil production. --- Thank you

Q: I have no pure oil names in my portfolio. I do own ENB, ALA and VET. Would you recommend an oil name or two, and/or a services company that will benefit from higher oil prices. Thanks, Penny
Q: Hi 5i: I am underweight energy. Could you suggest an oil stock that might benefit significantly if oil prices increase further, while at the same time not having a serious debt problem? Thanks.
Q: What is your assessment of RRX's quarterly results?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: Hello good 5i people,
I haven't owned any energy stocks for years. But I would like to add some. Could you recommend 3-4 top picks in the sector for long term growth?
Thx,
Mike

Q: Do you know when RRX is to report their quarter? (my online account shows Nov 7th, however I think that's wrong)

Q: Hello 5i, I am considering on taking a position in either Peyto or Arc. Could you comment on a comparison of the 2 as to what their payout ratio is and how safe the distribution is also your opinion on these 2 companies. Would you have a better recommendation on an energy company and if so which one. Also on your old website on the right side there was a selection by year and month of questions answered I see that it is now gone or how do I find this info.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Hi there,
I am considering Raging River for a position but hope for your comments on Parsley Energy as an alternative. I already own Spartan Energy. Eric Nuttall seems high on the US producers and has mentioned this as a favourite. Currency movement may add appeal on Parsley? Which would you suggest for a new position and why? Energy would remain a small part of my portfolio.

Q: Hi folks,I hold rrx/t on your reco and was wondering if Raging River has a hedging program in place or not. I have heard companies like Cenovous & Cresceent Point have hedged portion of productions at $50sh/barrel which seems to be holding them back with oil breaking $55 today. Rrx/t is finally running, thanks as usual for great service, jb
Q: in an earlier question i asked about tax loss selling for rrx and you mentionned pxt and vet. I should have mentionned that I already own whitecap. in doing a little further research I noticed in another question you answered that you said whitecap could be a reasonable replacement for RRX. Wondering if this is still true and whether it makes a big difference which one is chosen
thanks for your great help

Q: I have the above stocks in the energy sector and am at a 7.2% total. I'd like to sell two and increase either my holding in C. Non. Cyclical or Healthcare. Which 2 would you sell and what you you buy?
Thanks for the great advise.
