Q: Hello Peter et al:
My question is about senior unsecured notes that Parkland has recently announced. What are the big risks/benefits with this type of product and where do they stand in the pecking order if things go south for any company?

Hello Peter
I am interested in Parkland Industries PKI. They recently bought Pioneer and I wonder what they actually bought. Did they get freehold ownership of all the gas stations? Do they own all the convenience stores? Are the Convenience stores run by contractors? What do you think of the potential of this aquisition looking ahead a few years? I wonder why Alimentation Couche Tard didn't buy Pioneer as it would seem to fit their model. Did Parkland just get lucky? And finally what do you think of Parkland as a long term investment for both growth and dividend?

Q: A Globeinvestor commentator lists overbought and oversold stocks using a 1 year daily RSI chart. According to that method the TSX index is oversold today at 25.16 If we use a 3 year weekly chart the TSX index is at 45.54. Which chart duration would you use if you wanted the RSI of PKI? Thanks

Q: PKI Parkland Fuels is up 15% today on news of the Pioneer acquisition. Good news but is it too much?
I'm also wondering where the cash portion will come from as I don't see it on their last quarter balance sheet.

Q: Great riding Peter ...Ryan I have to park 30k until next April (Income Tax ) I have both portfolios covered ... PKI and CSH.un both have wonderful drip programs , would these two be a good choice or would you be more comfortable with something from either portfolio? TY for your help.

Q: hello Peter:
last question about 2 months ago, last report in 2012.
PKI: I have a small postition (about 2% of portfolio) and was looking at deploying some cash. How does this look from a GARP perspective, and how does it look to you from your perspective? The dividend is attractive and I am of the belief that dividends will mean more and more going forward, in a lower growth environment. Do you agree with the latter statement?

Q: Hi: I've recently signed up for 5i and I must say I am quite impressed thus far.
I'm quite interested in starting a position in PKI however I've noticed that shareholders in 2013, and so far in 2014 have seen significant growth in the share price. Have I missed the boat on this one?
I like the yield and the 5% discount on the share price via the DRIP...
