Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I own all of these in equal weighting (7% each). Down quite a bit on NFI. Just seeing if I should keep it and give it the long term (10 years) to provide a good return or sell because there is a better company to replace it with for a better long term performance at this point. Any other recommendations as I do have some cash side lined at this point (30%).

Q: I'm looking at adding these for a recession/defensive type of portfolio.
For a longer term holder, do see any reasons not to buy these ones?
Do you like any one of these more than others?
Thanks as always....

Q: I am investigating where to invest my proceeds from KWH.UN once funds are received. I see that back on Mar 25th you recommended SPB. Since then it has been removed from your Model Income Portfolio. I also see that you have recommended PKI over SPB. I have about 2.7% of SPB in my portfolio currently. I am interested more in income then growth as we are now living off investment income. Funds that will be received are about 1.1% of total invested. I aim for 5% in a holding so would prefer 1 rather the both. Which would be preferable in your opinion? Is there a better ETF or other company?

Q: hello 5i:
Long time holders of both of the above companies and intend to add to one. Have read the questions submitted in the past, but am wondering which of these companies would you favour:
A.) as far as total returns are concerned
B.) as far as safety is concerned
C.) as far as present valuations are concerned, adding in future growth possibilities

thanks, and deduct as many credits as necessary.
ps. Bought these companies YEARS ago, based on 5i recommendation. While they haven't quite been CSUs - what has? - my only regret is that we didn't buy more. Kudos to you Peter, as Ryan wasn't around back then.

Q: January 8 Parkland completedthe purchase of 75% of the shares of Sol Investments Limited, the largest independent marketer and supplier of petroleum products in the Caribbean. The CEO calls this: "...an opportunity to expand to a new geography and market through a strong business platform like Sol is an exciting time for Parkland. The assets and infrastructure we have acquired are proven, well known, and will enable Parkland to extend its supply advantage into a new region..." . Do you feel this is true, or is it reckless expanding into this region which, since I can remember, is a graveyard of investment capital.
