Q: I would appreciate your expertise analysis of their results. I believe this oil and gas company has not debt and has been buying back shares.
Good time to add to my position?
Thanks
Dave.
Q: Parex seemed to take it on the chin a little more than its peers this morning following its earnings release yesterday. As usual the results were pretty solid. But I noticed these comments by mgmt "Parex is strategically accelerating assessment of its portfolio of operated assets, through increasing exploration and appraisal activity". This is sounding a bit like the last time PXT tried to put some assets up for sale and there were no good offers, then the share price tanked because of that. Does it sound to you like they are once again going down the path of trying to sell assets?
Q: The stock price can't move out of the 21 to 22 dollar range. That's with the share buy back. Do you think this will change on the next earnings report or is that baked in. Hold or move on.
Q: Peter; Can you comment on PXT’s update today? Would you think PXT is a takeover candidate in this market? It seems to be doing everything right.
Thanks. Rod
Q: I would appreciate your analysis of Parex Resources results. As a debt free company, is it still a good hold going forward in the energy sector.
Thanks for all your help.
Dave.
Q: Appears this sector is staging a comeback has it staying power ?
i like to buy one or two preferably with good divdend.
TOU is one name i know .any other names
I own Parex and I saw that earlier this week they announced share repurchases of another 10% of their float in addition to the 10% purchased last year.
What do you think of share repurchases instead of instituting a dividend? Which do you prefer? Are share repurchases a good use of capital?
Q: Would you recommend purchasing gold stock or physical gold at this time?
If so, please advise which gold stocks you would recommend?
Also, would you recommend buying energy resources at this time, and if so, which energy resource companies would you recommend?
Q: I have only two stocks in the oil and gas sector: Parex and Questor. Given the declining long term outlook for this sector do you think they are worth keeping or is it time to sell and move the money into green energy stocks. Thank you.
Q: I hold some big loss holdings, such as those above, in registered accounts. Even though there is no opportunity to claim tax losses, would it make sense to consider selling them, at least until the new year, to avoid further losses resulting from tax loss season?
Thanks for your insights
Q: On a day where every energy company is up why would PXT continue to fall? Do you see changes in fiscal agreements with Columbia as a concern at this point?
Q: I hold these energy related stocks which are all in the red from 15% to 45%. In what order would you rank them? Would you sell all of them or keep some? If there is no tax loss that can be offset against tax gain, would you still sell some or all of them?
