Q: Looking to add a full position in your balanced equity portfolio ( which I am slow adopting). Currently overweight financial and energy so those are off the table. Could more or less add any other class and be ok for weighting. Recently added OTEX and ENGH as tech stocks so those are off the table along with MG, wsp. Which havew the best buying opportunity right now....wish I had picked up MX earlier this week when it tanked 4% on weak earnings...

Q: Not worrying about sector, which 5 stocks in the balanced portfolio have the most growth potential for the next twelve months from the price they currently trade at.

Q: Please comment of the shareholder rights plan. It seems to be a proposal to give the board more time to extract more value in the event of an unsolicited take-over offer. The stock has been strong recently but I suppose there has been no unsolicited offer. If the board had received an unsolicited "feeler" would they have been obligated to release it to the public or only if there had been a firm offer?

By the way I agree with the other members in supporting all the work you do.

Q: Good morning 5i team,

I’m considering moving on from Linamar and CGI group in search of better growth prospects. I still like both companies, and believe they still have a good outlook, however, after holding each for some time I’ve been growing restless with the share prices seemingly stuck in the mud. Perhaps I’m just being impatient, but I cant help but wonder if these holdings are dead money. At least for the next year or two anyway.

I’m considering switching out Linamar for either New Flyer Industries, or Premium Brands Holdings, and CGI for either Kinaxis or Celestica.

Could you please give your opinion on whether it’s worth being patient with LNR/GIB.A, or a good idea to move on? And if moving on is recommended, would you consider the alternatives I’ve mentioned as good replacements with growth for the next 1-2 years in mind?

As always, thank you for your excellent insight and advice.
Tristan.

Q: For industrials I have CP CNR WSP and MG. I would like to add one more to this sector. Do you have a favourite pick for medium and/or long term hold?

Q: Hi, I need to pull some money out of my TFSA and would love your thoughts on what to sell. I'm looking at TOY, NFI, and EIF as my "flatliners" (I haven't had them long). Do you have advice about which to drop, or perhaps they'll all shine in the end so I should just trim each one? I will be able to buy back mid-year. Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

Thank you for all the great work that you put in. My daughter's RESP is doing quite well thanks to your model portfolios.

Currently in my TFSA, I am holding DSG, FTS, NFI and WPK. I would like to add a fifth stock to my portfolio. The time frame for the TFSA is 10+ years. Any suggestions to increase the diversification?

Thanks in advance.

Marvin

Q: I am interested in purchasing the above securities, but currently only have the capital for one. Without regards to sector exposure, can you please rank the three in terms of potential from current price levels ?

Thanks

Q: Hi,
If my calculations are correct and the projected forecast on earnings is also correct this stock should be in the $55 to $60 range at this time next year. If not higher. I understand that any stock can reverse course at any time! So my assumption is based on numbers and past performance of management. The stock looks like it has solidified at around $39.00 the past few weeks from a high of $44 and change. I believe the drop was end of year profit taking and portfolio management. What are your thoughts on this. Thanks.
