Q: Hi 5i: Could you please comment on the ATA earnings? I cannot make sense of the summary given on my RBC Direct system - there seems to be some confusion relating to earnings per share. And the market did not like what it saw. I'd appreciate your opinion.

Q: Good day!
What can you tell us about NYX? The stock price seems to be going straight up. Does this look like an investment opportunity? Would this be a good time to buy? Is this a potential company for a take over?
Thank you.
David

Q: Can you explain why canadian tire is dropping today and is this a good time to consider buying some shares. Thx
Q: Just looking at the Financial Post article of January 25, 2015 on this company-they just paid off the remaining debt and are in a free cash flow situation. I would suspect that if gold finally makes and upward move, this company would move very well with it. What do you think?
Q: Hello, every one, Could you please help me to understand the current earning report of GIB.A, in which earnings expanded, but revenue was slightly shy of expectations. Since this is a growth stock, I thought missing revenue estimates would have negative impact on it. But the stock rose upon earning release. Your thoughts please. In addition, what is your view of this company? Also the company's debt level is high, will they issue more shares to acquire other companies in the future, if yes, how will this affect the stock?
Thanks,
Lin

Q: I find AGT interesting and have done some basic research. I had looked at it a few years ago when they were starting out. In hindsight it would have been a very good investment. That said you can’t buy much Beer with hindsight.
Since I first looked at it the growth has been very impressive and they have diversified into “Value Added” products.
I understand that Agricultural Commodities have a lot of risk and the Food Product business is very competitive.
That said it appears that AGT has found a “niche” that they understand very well.
I noticed that at one point that “The Carme Trust” controlled by Murad Al-Katib owned 26% of the company. In January 2014 that was reduced to 16.7%. It’s considered a good thing if management has substantial “skin in the game” but too much control by the CEO can be a double edged sword.
I don’t know if the reduction in the family’s holdings and control should be considered negative, positive or irrelevant.
Over the last year or so the growth in the company and increase in the share price has been impressive.
Another thing that I noticed unless I missed something is that the over-allotment on the recent Bought Deal (Nov 2014) at $28 was not taken up. If that is a fact it could suggest that the market felt that $28 was a bit expensive.
I am considering starting a position in AGT with the view to build it over the next few months depending on how things go for a mid or better yet long term investment.
The only other exposure that I have to Agriculture / Food is Agrium (AGU) and Premium Brands (PBH)

Q: Hi 5i! Where in EFN's 2015 outlook did you see mention of a "substantial dividend" for next year? Would be nice!
Q: Dear 5i
What are your thoughts on KLS at this time ? Is it a good time to invest in this company and are they expecting good earnings growth over the next couple years ?
Also what sector is currently the strongest in the U.S. And what ETF would you recommend within that sector . Looking for high growth .
Thanks
Bill C.

Q: I'd appreciate your comments on today's results.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: Good Morning Peter, Ryan, and Team,
I was looking over a press release from Pulse Seismic dated January 19, 2015 reporting preliminary unaudited 2014 financial results. The numbers look surprisingly good and the stock price appears to be steadying up. (part of it may be the share buybacks) I would appreciate your opinion of the numbers contained in the press release and the company's long term prospects, if energy prices firm up. Thank you very much. DL

Q: Could I have your thoughts on Element's increased outlook for 2015 announced today? Thanks.
Q: Any thoughts on OTC today after the disappointing earnings?
Q: Hi 5i, Re Walters question on PHM yesterday and the precipitous drop, apparently Fabrice Taylor (Globe and Mail) issued a SELL recommendation on PHM yesterday.

Q: Any reason you know for the precipitous drop in the PHM share price? Thank you.
Q: Peter and team:
Would you consider buying IT at these levels (including today's spike up)?
Of the forest group which stock would you recommend buying at current levels: WEF, Interfor or West Fraser? Or any other? Is there an ETF for this group?
Thank you for great feedback, SS

Q: According to this news, Intertain Group is in the process of selling off a significant portion of their assets for 1B. If their market cap is >500M and this goes through would this not cause their per share price to spike 100% or am I dreaming in a haze of confusion?

Q: What do you think of itp's recent announcement.
Q: Hey Folks, In a recent response you liked OTC. I hold a few of the larger Canadian tech names, including CGI. How does its growth profile compare to OTC? I also noticed that CGI has had tons of insider selling over the past year. How concerned should I be about that? Thanks for you comments.
Q: Your views on the company now in the $0.30 range?
Q: One pundit who is long CGI Group, as am I, thinks 2015 is the year this company makes a large takeover which ought to give the stock a big boost. How likely is that and how much cash are they sitting on since they pay no dividend yet seem to have been profitable for many years? I've held this stock since 2013 in US $ which of course has limited the appreciation and I'm wondering if I should continue holding for this possible event or fold sale proceeds into one of the current tech holdings and if the latter, which 1 or 2? Current p/f weight of GIB is 1% and other tech holdings (total 12%) are CSU 4% AYA 3% ESL, MDA, AAPL all 1% and SYZ and AVO 0.5%. We are in our late 60's, retired, but can take some risk in this area. Thanks to 5i for the handsome gains in most of these names except AVO (so far), J.
