Q: I am looking for low priced high growth Canadian companies that I want to buy in TFSA in the new year. Volatility, risk factors are NOT relevant. For about 11k. (5500x2) I bought PHO and BBI after reading your responses to some of the subscribers in the Q&A section. Any other names that you would suggest? ( Being seniors our core holdings are in the ETFs in different sectors and safe stocks like XIC, VDY, VIG,MGV,XEG,GLD,XGD etc., ). So, this 11k can be allocated to risky micro or ultra micro caps and I am ok with some losses if I can score a few three or 4 bangers!
My membership has been extended to March 2020 which shows my confidence in you! You need to find a way to synchronise my CMS and 5i subscriptions though!
Wish you all Happy, Healthy, Peaceful and Plentiful New Year!

Thank you for all your prompt, thoughtful and candid answers to such varied questions from so many different type of members.
Truly amazing.
Mano.

Q: Knight, Celestica and Lundin Mining are all trading at close to 1:1 price to book (per the Globe). Is that meaningful at all for any of these companies? Is it a "value" indicator that suggests better days may be ahead? Your thoughts, please. With thanks.

Q: I have a question about FIH.UN

For weeks there seems to be a large seller that trips any momentum the shares develop. Is there a short position developing or any indication of an institution selling.
A recent notice of a shelf prospective is the only other explanation in my view. Some indication in the prospectus that the funds could be used to purchase shares of large sellers.
Could be that shareholders are worried about dilution.
Can you determine which of the above might explain the negative momentum.
What would you estimate fair value to be.

Q: I have a small position in Rocky Mountain Dealerships. I saw recently a regular increase in value. Since I now make a small profit, I would like to know if I should keep it or change for something else. What would be the benefits and the perspectives of keeping it? and if you think that it would be preferable to change for something else having more value, what would be your suggestions for replacement?

Q: On Dec.1 NFI announced the purchase of ARBOC which from what I understand is a competitor of BUS. I have been looking to buy BUS for a while and have been waiting for a pull back like this, I also see some insiders stepping in to buy here, I am thinking part of the sell off is possibly due to maybe some pre knowledge of this takeover by NFI. Do you think this takeover will or could have much of an adverse effect on BUS ability to sustain growth growing forward and would you consider an investment in BUS at this time as part of a portfolios small cap component at maybe an overall 2% portfolio position?

thanks Tom

Q: I have a follow up question to your reply on a question earlier today on Photon:
" PHO has just broken out to a new high on good volume. Typically, this would not be a good time to sell after such a good move. There are no guarantees, of course, and it will fluctuate a lot, but we would view it as a 3 to 5 year position."

What are realistic expectations of returns for holding for his time, how do monitor the results and what flags do you/we look for if the growth is not working?

Thanks
