Q: If insurance co such as Great West, Sun Life etc. were start including Medical marijuana products under the prescription medications that would be covered under their various drug plans, (group or individual), would a company such as Loblaw (shoppers) be the (a) way to play this or is this eventuality already baked in? Would it be a material enough impact L or others? I have not to this point been able to see my way clear to investing an any of the producers which I sense you are in agreement. Any other suggestions as to how one might play this if in fact such a development would be material to the industry?

Q: CSU has been a beast because of good management and execution on M&A without dilution. BYD.UN has had similar success to a lesser extent. Still holding these after years - this is when buy and hold works. Who is the next CSU? They are hard to find. I am searching for the next small/mid cap with this type of potential. Appreciate your insight.

Q: I'd like to invest in the thesis that low-mid level income earners are going to start having more income based on a resurgent economy, lower taxes, and a very tight labor market along with reduced immigration. Can you suggest 3-4 companies that would really benefit from this scenario?

Q: Hi, Transcontinental Ltd was recommended by some Portfolio Managers in the past, and has been on my watch list for some time. But it was Ryan's recommendation on BNN, last week that caught my attention. Although, company slowly started to divest of its printing/media assets over past 2 years and was making small acquisitions in packaging industry, but it was the Coveris purchase in April this year, which made most analysts to take note resulting in the stock earning a few upgrades. However, it looks like that brokerages are still not fully convinced of the true potential of this company although packaging should be close to 50% of company's business, post this acquisition.
Is this the debt level or the execution risk or the Management's capability and expertise or any other factors, in your view, which still has Bay street on the sidelines?
Identifying companies with huge inherent/untapped value and growth potential, at early stages has rewarded investors generously, in past. There are several examples in 5i portfolios, a few being, CSU, PBH and BYD.un. Do you see such signs with TCL.a ?

We own most of Bal Portfolio companies including CCL.b and RPI.un in packaging sector and are interested to add Transcontinental for above reasons (and more importantly, the fact that you like it). Would a 3% position be reasonable and is it prudent to buy a part position at current prices and wait for June 7 results (or 5i full report) for the balance ?

Thank You for your valued advice.

Q: General question on Patriot One Technologies. It seems to offer a better solution than more guns and strikes me as a company that could grow a lot on its own or be taken out for its technology. My online broker indicates that it is due to break out based on a continuation wedge pattern but I like the fundamental story too. Would you suggest this as a speculative buy/high risk buy or is it still way too early?
