Q: How do Canadian telecoms compare to US or European telecoms? If attempting to build a globally-diversified portfolio, which region would you suggest an investor go to for telecom exposure? Which companies would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

Q: Shipping companies seem to be on a tear today. They've been in the dumps for years and supply has been cut, is it finally time for a rebound as commodities may finally get a re-run and the inflation trade plays out? I've been looking at a few US listings SBLK, GNK, DSX as examples - wondering if you had an opinion on the sector and any recommendations? thanks

Q: We I currently own vfv in my husbands Rrsp account and have done quite well. Since he has now retired we are slowly repositioning his portfolio from income / growth to more income with safety we are thinking of selling vfv and purchasing a covered call etf that would still provide exposure to the us market. Do you think this is a wise decision, and if so what do you think of the Bmo Zwh? And which one would you purchase at this time-ZWH or ZWH.u? Are there other consideration we should be thinking about? Thank you

Q: Still hunting for income without taking on too much risk.

Both BIF.UN and PEG have yields in the 8% range.

I would appreciate your comments regarding adding these to a portfolio that contains most of all three of the 5i Portfolios, and is reasonably well balanced despite being underweight in utilities.

Thank you.

Q: Hi guys,

I'm to mirror the growth portfolio. Within the growth mandate, what are good growthy CAD$ substitute for IWO? I don't have enough $$ for it to be worthwhile to convert to USD.

Thanks,

Elliott

Q: I am looking at moving a significant chunk of our retirement money into either/both the Tangerine Equity Growth Portfolio and the Tangerine Balanced Growth Portfolio in an attempt to follow the 'one fund solution'. What are your thoughts and are there alternative index funds you think may be a better bet. This is my first question (membership was a Christmas prezzie from my dad)!

Q: I am looking at adding one of the two to my US holdings and would appreciate your thoughts. Which would be the better long term hold, for 5 years? Tencent Holdings, or Impinj?

Acknowledging that you do not focus on US stocks, I still value your opinion -- as you helped me (along with many others no doubt) hit it out of the ballpark with both NVDA and Tenneco. (Thank You! )

Q: Peter and Team,

I hold basically the balanced equity portfolio with CSW.A,KBL,and L added plus a portfolio I've been building to US/International. In the US/International portfolio I currently hold XYL, SBUX, V, JNJ, and VXUS. I was considering selling some or all of L and CSW.A to add some more international names and was thinking initially of GE and PFE. These changes would be made within an RRSP (the entire portfolio is spread over TFSAs, RRSPs, and RESP).

What are your thoughts on such a move? I should point out that L is less than 1% weighting and CSW.A is approximately 3% of total equity exposure.

Are there other US/International names I should focus on?

Thanks,

Marc

Q: Peter and His Wonder Team
I realize you do not cover USA stocks and may want to take a pass...I will not be offended. Iteris has just hit a new high and I am wondering if I should sell or hold for a while. So in your eyes can you give me the big picture. Does it appear to have new legs and could possibly run another 10-20% in the coming months?
Thanks for your guidance which is always valuable to us little guys!
