Can you explain the Cognex stock split to me?
Specifically: "Cognex Corp - ‍board approved a two-for-one split of company’s common stock, payable in form of a stock dividend"
I understand the usual two for one but what about the "payable in the form of a dividend"?

Q: I bought SMP.us as a dividend grower. I am down about 9%. The company APPEARS to have good metrics including dividend growth and ROIC over 11.5%. But now I am not so sure. Is SMP worth holding on to?
