Q: I have this ETF in my TFSA and I have a question about the dividend payment. Fund is hedged but the dividend is it subject to the US withholding tax or because its hedged does it not apply. Thank you.
Q: I've never had any interest in ETFs until yesterday a friend told me the error of my ways. He gave me two names ZSP and ZWB that both have annual combined returns (yield & growth) exceeding 20%. It was a real eye opener for sure.
Do you know where can I find reports on line that rate the performance of most Canadian traded ETFs? As well, do you have other ETF names that are comparable in combined returns with ZWB and ZSP that you can recommend?
Thanks.

Q: for a RRSP account, sector issues aside. I am asking for guidance regarding Exxon and CVS
My investor personality is buying blue chip dividend paying companies at a fair price;
A. present yield relative to historical yield
B. present P/E ratio relative to the companies historical P/E ratio
C. company I basically understand (this is not my day job.) i.e. how they make profit doesn't seem to be going into extinction
D. company I don't expect to go away anytime soon.
E. company with expectation of growth
do either Exxon or CVS fit my investor personality ?
if so which would you think is "better" value today relative to future growth potential ?
or would you recommend something else ??
thanks
Ernie

Q: Hi,
In light of the Donald's proposed 54 billion dollar budget to increase defence spending, including new aircraft carriers,
Would you suggest buying the rumour ?
From what I gather, chances are this will not pass in its current incarnation.
And if you were inclined to beef up defence in your portfolio, what stocks, mid to large caps would be your preference for a basket of stocks ( I prefer to avoid sector ETFs). Can you rank them ?
Thank you,
Karim

Q: Hi. I'm looking for a couple of big, solid US tech names with growth which would be less likely to be impacted by any US-China trade spat. I already own AVGO, TXN, FB and GOOG.

Q: Hi team, I am under water on Gilead and am thinking that it is time to bail. Can you please suggest an alternative, I hold this in an RRSP to protect the USD dividend, so would prefer a US dividend alternative if possible, it doesn't need to be health care.
Thanks

Q: Hi, a friend mentioned these etfs may be a great place to start a small position ~5%. I would like your opinion on DBA and JJG, to play agriculture in US dollars. Thanks.
Q: Teale Lind on BNN recommended the American Company Five Below for potential good growth. What is your opinion. Your input is much appreciated.
Q: My question is about ARRY. I know the company is out of your wheel-house, but wondering if you have any opinions on them. Should I do some profit-taking or hold for the longer term. Friday seemed like a bad day for the stock for whatever reason, but this is not a reaction to that.
Cheers

Q: I'm trying to get my wife's rrsp some international exposure with an ETF that pays a decent dividend for income.Aside from it's small size[ 11.42 M ] but a nice 6.02% div, is there any down side in your view. If so, your alternatives? It currently has XHY and 22 other income and some growth stocks each about equally weighted.
Secondly, a suggested CDN ETF with US large cap/financial exposure that as pays a 3+ % div.
