My tobacco stocks are getting hit due to upcoming government regulation. In your opinion is it time to lighten up on these stocks? What are the long term implications.

Q: I am considering purchasing units of XDU from iShares. It is a new fund, with just over $6 000 000 in net assets. Is it safe to buy now, or should I wait until it accumulates more net assets? If safe to buy now, am I okay purchasing in one lump sum (approximately $150 000 worth). Thank you.
Q: Hello Peter and Company,
Just wondering if you can comment on MO's latest earnings and what's your outlook on MO going forward? Would you please also shed some lights on the precipitous drop in its stock price today. Much appreciated.

Q: Your portfolio review was helpful and appreciated. Am gradually tweaking our savings re diversification. Presently no healthcare. Am mulling a 3 - 5% (of equity) stake. We can do this in either Cdn or US$. The US healthcare sector is our preference. If we use our Cdn$, it appears you favour ZUH? Can you recommend an equivalent etf if we use our US$? I'm also hoping for your thoughts on whether now even the time to take a position in healthcare (given the current confusion down south) or would we be better off just to add this cash to our SPY or XSP. Thanks for your help.
Q: I am wondering what your thoughts are on SBUX today....is the sell off overdone (Down over 7% at time of this question)? Would you see it as a good buying opportunity or a wait and see? Thank you.

Q: I have seen my investments total value in US stocks and non hedged ETFs going down lately, although individual stock price are doing OK.
I know it is very difficult to predict currency fluctuations, I would like your view and recommendation on how to protect my portfolio. Is buying hedged ETFs is the solution and what about your view on the Canadian dollar against the US $ and the Euro.
I value your opinion

Q: Hi,
I've just converted a significant amount of cad to USD. This is cash I plan on deploying in the event of a market correction. In the mean time, I am looking for a usd vehicle to park my cash, with the primary goal being capital preservation. Do you have any suggestions? I was thinking something like horizon's HFR etf-does something équivalent exist for USD? Please advise if such an etf exists, and what your preferred vehicle would be.
Thank you
Karim

Q: Could I get your take on the earnings reports for Boeing and Brinks. I gather from today's market reaction they were considered quite good. I was wondering if I should add to them at this point.
Q: Hi Peter and Company,
I currently have a position on RY, TD and BNS and I am thinking of moving some money from Canadian banks to US banks. So of the three aforementioned banks that I currently hold, which one would you take off the table and is there a U.S. bank that you can recommend?
Cheers,
Harry

Q: Good Morning.
Could I get your opinion of Geely (HKG 0175)? It is up substantially since 2016. Is there an etf or fund that would hold stocks exposed to electric vehicles, etc.? Thank you.

Q: I hold small weightings in cdz, zwc, zwh, zwe as well as holdings in Canadian utilities. I am thinking of replacing cdz with either zdh or cyh to increase my international holdings. Would you please look under the hood of zdh and cyh and would you recommend this move or do you have another recommendation?. Thanx. Great service.
Q: Would you sell USB.us if you held it and replace it with Goldman Sachs GS.us instead? OR would you keep USB (assuming your allocation allowed) and simply ADD Goldman? I’d appreciate some SUBSTANTIVE reasoning , would really apreciate that. Many thanks.
(PS: I reviewed your previous comments on Goldman Sachs and was baffled by your responses. Goldman a target for takeover given anti-trust rules & regs? And: Goldman I could not see where made the acquisitionist you referred to; nor does Goldman pay the dividend amounts you mentioned. Nevertheless , I defer to your expertise)
I have a question about 854
