Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: In adding a security ROE not significantly below 20% ; PEG not TOO far above 1.0-1.4 : these together with reasonable forward P/E are top of mind in in key things I look for.

I would be thankful for your response and comment on the following issues:
1. Does KLAC meet most of my critical factors, do you think ?
2. Would you personally buy KLAC at or near current prices?
3. Does your analysis indicate probability of strong growth in the next 2 to 4 years?
4. Is the stock reasonably (fairly) valued relative to industry prospects using GARP thinking?
5. Does KLAC have strong competitors around the world?

Your insight would be valuable. Thank you.

Q: Hi
I own a 2% position in teva pharmaceuticals. It is down nearly 60%. You have recommended selling the stock in a response to a somular question yesterday. My problem is I am holding this in an RRSP and cannot take advantage of a tax loss. I am comfortable holding for a few years in the hopes of a rebound, collecting the dividend meanwhile. Do you think this is wishful thinking?

Do I cut my losses, or do I wait patiently for a possible recovery?

Thank you
Karim

Q: i currently have almost $20000 in U.S. cash in my porfolio.
am looking to invest in the U.S. Banks.
would i be better off in investing in a U.S. bank etf or would i benefit more by transferring my U.S. funds to Canadian dollars and using either ZBK or ZUB??
or would you suggest a U.S. Regional bank etf?
these funds are not in a RRIF or other registered retirement account.

Q: Dear Team,
While I am aware that these stocks are quite diverse, I am interested in your assessment from a growth and momentum perspective.
Thanks, as always!

Q: Hi. My portfolio has no US ETFs. I have some individual US technology, financial and industrial stocks. (total 10% weight). Now, I'm planning to sell some of my Canadian stocks and to increase US stocks to 25 to 30% weight.

I'm in the process of adding more US stocks into my well diversified portfolio. My questions are 1) Do I need to buy into every US sector? If not, what US sectors should I concentrate into buying and what other US sector should I ignore? For instance, I assume I don't need US energy and US material stocks. 2) In my US portfolio, I have GOOG, ADBE, VISA, AIG, CGNX. What others US stocks should I also add?

I'm still unsure how to incorporate US individual stocks into a portfolio. Please give guidance... Have a great day.. Thank you in advance.
